But ya, I get it.  I found his stuff kinda hard to decipher too.  I dont think he's pompous though.  Just sorta maybe out of touch with anyone who doesn't have a deeper understanding of mythology.

Have you listened to any of his lectures? I find that his love for the material really comes through in his lectures more than his writing, especially when he starts telling a story, rather than the academic aspects. Truly infectious enthusiasm.
