Stimulation Keeps You In Your Mind

"Stimulation keeps you in your mind"

What is the difference between stimulation and inspiration? Isn't inspiration, stimulating?

My first answer to myself is that inspiration comes from inside; whereas, stimulation comes from outside. However, inspiration can come from outside, no? And stimulation can come from inside as a result of being inspired.

I ask myself these questions:

1. How do we reconcile being 'stimulated' or 'inspired' and staying within the heart instead of being carried away by the mind?

2. The mind is a beautiful tool, especially as it pertains to creation. However, how do we know when we are overusing this tool in lieu, of say, the heart?

You know how when you stay up to late reading online because you're too tired to get up and go to bed? That's stimulation. You're unconscious of how you feel about what you're doing and ignoring what you really want to be doing. You're actually in some sort of pain but you're too paralyzed to do anything about it. It also feels like a habit of checking the news everyday, reading stories that feel awful to read but telling yourself it's real and important. Or it could be checking a social messenger feed not because it feels like a fun thing to do but out of habit or fear of missing out. Inspiration feels like energy, true enjoyment, resonance or an idea that comes out of nowhere.

This was beautifully said and resonates with me deeply, thank you.  I've always had my suspicions of this but it's like almost a blindspot or a thing I'm actively ignoring.

The modern smartphone really is a vampire it seems.  Yet here we are...

To me it seems like the mind wants to be stimulated and inspiration comes from the lack of stimulation. In the beginning of my awakening the mind could easily "take over" and things could get really out of hand, then suddenly I could snap out of that energetic movement just as sudden as a ballon pops.

As the awakening has progressed I can easier see that mind movement before hand or the gap between mind taking over and me seeing it has shortened.

Am I using the mind or is it using me? It's a great tool to have at my disposal for planning or contemplation. Dissecting certain ideas or information. It can use me by controlling events. Grasping something fun/intriguing to reject something boring/fearful/...

in - spira - tion contrasts with in - forma - tion, the latter is a spark from viewed objects and worldly forms and the other is of spirit

stimulation meanwhile is a hyper sensitive over active mind state in which ego is calling the shots

inspiration i would say comes from dedication and devotion when we are attuned to source, while stimulation comes from the chasing of worldly pleasure

One of the ways I might overthink is getting overwhelmed. I find writing down all my worries helped with feeling overwhelmed; and my releif showed me that these concerns had probably been on repeat--round and around--in my mind. When I get overwhelmed, of course it impacts the emotions of the people around me. My wife responds, "Your thinking about everything at the same time!"

@mandyjw Wow, perfectly put. This gives me so much clarity. Thank you, thank you.
