You are already dead

3 posts in this topic

To accept pain is to transform it into Love.

Alchemy.

To run away from pain is to suffer.

Death is the only Truth we can all agree on. Accept it. You are dead, just like an engaged couple in a way are already married.

Don't run away from yourself anymore.

Look inward.

Death implies Life, just like the background of a painting makes you see the foreground.

We westerners focus WAY too much on the foreground (life) and ignore the background (death).

Ignorance in its purest form.

Absolutely nothing lasts permanently. We all know that -- intuitively, on the inside -- but act, outwardly, like the opposite is true; that we can make things that last forever (our life, for instance).

Denial. Fear of death. Running away from the Truth: ourselves, our death.

Take a coin. Can you define 'heads' without simultaneously defining 'tails'?

"Take the sentence: "The inside is the outside'... This sentence seems contradictory, but it's really not.  Inside implies an outside; outside implies an inside. The word 'inside' only has meaning relative to 'outside'.

There is no such thing as 'just the inside' of something. Inside only has meaning relative to outside. You are only 'who you are' relative to 'that which is not you'. That 'which is not you' defines 'who you are'." (- Credit to @Mason Riggle).

@WaveInTheOcean nice. Gotta give the credit to the great Alan Watts.

"Life implies death. Or shall I say, death implies life." - Alan Watts

"If I have seen further, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants" - Sir Isaac Newton

"I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people."
