IF it is dopamine related then a few dry fasts could fix it.

It could be a sign that you're wasting dopamine the whole day and porn is the final nail in the coffin.

It did for me.

Giving up YouTube / video games etc. should have a better effect on your motivation than no fap (sexual repression).

Every day? Lol

At that age I could ejaculate 20 times in a row with no problem. The only limit was physical exhaustion and dick burn.

Oh, the glory days.

You guys got some seriously weak sex drives.

You don't understand what ejaculation is until you cum 20 times in row.

Literally, when getting my testosterone back up to speed, my sex drive and horniness only increased after jerking off for the 5th time with great orgasms. These guys have libido of a rock. Most of these NOFAP guys have low testosterone levels. With higher T, you'll come to find out how stupid NOFAP and NO-EJACULATION is. Sexual Transmutate by jerking off and talking to women!

I had bad brain fog over the last few years which I cured with heavy metal detox and diet.

So I know very much how terrible brain fog can be.

Yeah but not just normal brain fog. This brain fog consists also of thoughts of insecurity and that my life, and this brain fog generally shakes my equanimity. If you just feel a little physical sensation up there then you haven't really experienced how it can ruin your life.

And like you said, yours is probably as a result of aging. By the way I'm turning 19 soon. I don't think it has to do with my food but you might be right, I could change my diet and see (but in general I try to eat very healthy).

And yeah man, you are special in this regard. As you've noticed, most people can't relate to your experience with jerking off. It is calling for research

Heavy metal brain fog is no joke. Getting rid of it can cure anger issues and mental/physical problems, along with feeling lighter and clearer in the head.

Masturbating has never caused me any sort of problem, just a feeling of being calm and refreshed, although I definitely would not do it daily.

I am aware of POIS. Perhaps it is a spectrum, and some of the reported negative effects are just a very mild form of it. Who knows. Not enough research into this stuff, unfortunately.

I feel pretty good after doing it. Maybe it's the nofap mentality guilt tripping you.

What you guys fail to consider is that pursuing real life women is a WAY bigger waste of time and energy than jerking off to porn. The amount of life energy lost in the drama of relationships and physical sex is incalculable. The time that the average guy wastes in dumb relationships and dating, I invested that time in my life purpose, philosophical contemplation, and career/business.

You think I got to where I am today by wasting time on having a bunch of sex? While you were having sex, I was contemplating the nature of existence.

What is your perception of using a relationship(and physical sex?) for spiritual growth?

I'm 21 and have had this contemplation for some time, thinking I'm "wasting" my life energy indulging myself in a relationship, however she is my shakti pointing to the triggers I need to heal in order to master myself, and pointing me towards being still.

So what you're saying is you've only been eating shit for 19 years?

Sure, you can.

But will you? Do most people? Hell no.

There a thousand different paths to God.

Serious conscious relationships will definitely force you to grow. But will it lead to enlightenment? Don't hold your breath.

It all depends on what you want out of life. You shouldn't be in a relationship just for some utilitarian purpose. Be in it because you actually want it. Or don't.

You will get out of a relationship as much as you're willing to pour into it.

Nope.

You got a disorder.

I actually gain energy, focus, and creativity from jerking off.

Maybe get your diet in order.

Leo do you watch porn or actually cut if off?

Yeah and in my case i've got pretty ambivalent approach. Sometimes i'd edge myself shitload of times during the week thinking that busting a nut to porn and jerking off is something bad for me and potentially worsening my sex during the weeknd and something (like this week) i'm like - yeah i'm not really proud of it but fuck it - imma not restrain myself and jerk off when i want to. And this second approach is really cool. It's something as Leo says - i'm pretty energetic and i'm up for doing my stuff so it's cool for me.

@Leo Gura I really wonder why the effects it has on you are very different than to most people...

I think some of it has to do with the fact that your mind was very clear and sharp in your teens, which in all honesty, is very rare. Most of the people trying to self-actualize/self-improve have experiences with some light mental illness and not a clear mind.

Actually, I think you got it backwards. Most people don't have a problem jerking off. If you do, you're the exception.

There is nothing special about me in this regard. It is normal for a human to be able to jerk off without pain or problem, just as it is for apes.

The no-fap movement is ultimately a small vocal minority. Just because they are so vocal does not make them the majority.

@Leo Gura You definitely seem like an abnormality and outlier Leo - 5-6 times throughout the course of a day (3 times tops in one sitting) as a teenager was my max. It actually starts hurting physically (especially in the balls because they've been so thoroughly drained out). Not to mention psychologically the desire usually wears off substantially after the first release & very strongly after the 2nd/3rd. The rates you're talking about are patently absurd and I hate to say it, borderline sad & concerning (no hate to teenage leo :P)

Also if you haven't tested out nofap / semen retention properly, you simply cannot judge it. Don't give me a personal excuse/reason and try to pass it off as if it universally applies to all people... 'but it's unhealthy...' 'but it's a waste of my time...' 'i've got bigger fish to fry...' 'you think I'd sexually repress myself in that way...' Personal excuses and/or reasons that relate to you may not apply to everyone else - that's my point.

I will say this, a proper test is not going to kill you and semen retention itself has been widely practiced outside of NoFap circles for thousands of years - and I am assuming you of course know this. And thus, I assume you also know of many purported physical, emotional, & spiritual benefits that at least SOME people positively attest to who practice it, however long and however sporadically.

I have done multiple such streaks and noticed an almost superhuman energy / electricity / masculinity / drive begin building up within & surging out of me. It feels so incredible, almost like you are coasting off an artificial high. The energy literally feels so charged up within you, it feels like it's bursting and radiating out of every cell of your body - making you feel full of unstoppable life force energy and almost uncontrollably elevating you into states of unity consciousness/bliss/love. Often on those peak days, I think to myself how I would trade in regular daily faps/orgasms to experience this. It's that powerful and incredible for me. And I won't even bore you with all the other so-called semen retention superpowers people report, but I've experienced them all too - especially the female attention ;P

I'd genuinely be fascinated to see you go on a decent streak semen retention streak for 30-60 days and I think you will be pleasantly surprised by just how positive/powerful its affects can be. I think it will have some extraordinary positive affects on you - as you have accessed superhuman states of consciousness and are generally more sensitive to most substances than most average humans (be it 5-meo or maca). Of course, I understand your POV and could see how disruptive it could be as well to your work and life in general - thus making it not worth it.

Anyway, I can also attest the my sex drive is much lower than yours & I am a healthy, vital, muscular, attractive male in his mid 20s. I don't feel a daily desire to release - it comes in waves every 3-4 days and I know plenty of guys who this is also the case for. I do indeed know men who's sexual drive manifests in a daily release, but anywhere in this ballpark I feel is normal. So once again, consider you are may be more of the outlier here.

I think you’re right when it comes to jerking off. It’s fine and most people are okay with it. The insane nofap never ejaculate stuff is stupid.

But if you’re to watch porn for a decent period of time and not feel shit after, you’re lucky. Myself and a lot of other people feel like trash and have depleted dopamine after a porn session

In my experience, healing my root chakra doing specific exercises helped tremendously. Here's what I did: basically everytime I felt that my root chakra zone was tense/triggered, I focused on it and let it tense up, let it do whatever it wanted to do. This meant basically contracting my muscles following the wisdom of my body, listening to what muscles needed to be contracted moment by moment, without stopping unless I felt I finished the exercise.

This caused some stored traumas to be integrated, and strenghten the pelvis area.

Kegels exercises are a similar type of exercises, but the goal usually is not to heal traumas and the root chakra, so they don't go as deep as someone may need.

Update; it seems my terrible comedown is deeply related with the type of fantasy/porn I jerk myself too.

Recently I've been hitting some Consciousness breakthroughs in self love and I'm begging to fantasize and orgasm with normal sex and enjoying my masculine side, and the comedown is almost non existent!

Before I used to orgasm with femdom / BDSM porn. It's crazy how psychology can affect the body. I was basically killing myself and how bad it felt after orgasming was such an obvious message of the body.

Any books you can recommend on the subject? Have read 5 love languages, but I'm looking for serious spiritual practice.

@Avidya Every practice or resource that makes you more aware of yours and your partner's psyche, self-deception mechanisms, relationship patterns, attachment styles, internal wounds, wrong beliefs, etc. will do.

David Deida's stuff is great. Teal Swan's stuff too.
