Leo, you gotta explain to JP what “God = Love” means. Check out this video

I think it's a really nice answer. Considering the fact that he didn't have any mystical experiences, what he says sounds relatively good and it's definitely going in the right direction.

To be honest, I even find it a little bit sad that his mind is so much in the way of him really understanding these things. You can see how he would really like to understand what he's saying and what he has long suspected deep inside... That there actually is a transcendent element to life. He even knows that consciousness is fundamental (or at least he very, very strongly suspects that, only his academic background kinda keeps him stuck in a materialistic world view) but he doesn't yet know how.

I still wonder what would happen if he saw Leo's analysis video. And what he would be like if he overcame his shadow (oh the irony, he as a psychologist and admirer of Jung doesn't recognize his own shadow)...

I owe him a lot and I have empathy for him. He is one of the few people I wish would gain the insights they desire in their hearts.

His answer is pretty decent considering he isn't conscious that EVERYTHING is Love.

His is a human sort of answer.

Mine is a God sort of answer.

@Leo Gura What would get JP to that level? 

I believe he has done psychedelics, will more psychedelics help him get there?

To be honest I think we give JP a hard time, he is more conscious than 90% of people in the world. Don't know if that's a compliment on JP or a smear on the world lol

I don't think anything will. He is too attached to his human views of reality.

He would need to deconstruct his whole mind. He is lost in the labyrinth of his own mind.

Being more conscious than 90% of people is nice, but also not nearly enough to be speaking about God or Love.

I think he actually may have.  I've heard Ken Wilber, and I think some people from Rebel Wisdom (who've interviewed him and also have spiritual backgrounds) say he did.  And I guess he spoke about it somewhere, but I dunno.

I love how he says to approach reality with "Love and courage". He is right. I love a lot of what he says. I find its humanness useful. He has a good heart! He also says love is the right things to run our social institutions not power.

I am aware of this. But his couple of mystical experiences were not nearly deep enough.
