Self-Love, Emotions, Healing, Shadow work

To put too many restrictions though will take away from the right brained presence on the forum.

This is an important point. Thinking of one particular user with incredible, sharp, cutting insight who was warned all the time because most people couldn't flip their perspective around enough to get it. Sometimes what people say is symbolic and almost like a riddle, but when you get it, it really hits home. People totally miss this in favor of logical/language only communication.

The section would be used the same way as the others, with a focus on how to handle emotions, how to do shadow work, how to love yourself etc.

It wouldn't be a lay back and free talking section of the forum like the journaling section.

All those things like self-love, emotions, healing and shadow work are, of course already teached in other sections, but they are secondary to each of them, not the main focus, and therefore you can't really open a thread in them without feeling they are a bit out of place.

So basically you want to just post Matt Kahn videos there? xD

Either way, it would be amazing to have a section for discussing in general topics like emotional intelligence, the emotional scale, symbolism, art therapy, Jung's work, etc.

The meditation forum is about all the mystical things in life, with a focus on transcendance of the "self" and "higher" states of consciousness.
Again you can talk about emotions, healing and shadow work, but it's not the focus of the forum, the focus is explaining "higher" states of consciousness.

You can talk about all those things without being cryptic or not making any sense.

Guys, how can i develop self love? Can you share some practices?

I tried metta meditations when i was on retreats, but instructions wasn's clear i think. It was something like "imagine small little cute animal, how you care of it, how you feel about it and then transfer that feeling on yourself". When i do that i don't feel pretty much anything. That makes me feel even less self-loving, because i start thinking that i somehow can't love myself.

Drop the idea that you have to love yourself and just love whatever is the easiest thing to love and appreciate right now is also your self. The bird chirping, the trees, the sky. Then self love arises too. You're all of it.

They included gentleness and empathy in the equation of this profound insight generation,  I presume? There are many aspects to right brain/ yin.

The animal realm (non intellectual) could be thought of as feminine compared to the masculine humanity.  Symbols and riddles would go over their head but they have natural intuition and spirituality that humans wish to integrate.

What works for me, is to take care of my mind as if it was my own child.

So I don't insult, blame, or hit it, and instead I am comprehensive, patient, and loving to it.

I think one of the most loving things you can do for yourself is to simply give yourself some attention - start by asking yourself, 'What am I feeling right now, in this moment?' Notice where you might be feeling tight and tense in your body, and allow those areas to relax and breathe. The majority of humans are holding an awful lot in without even realising it, simply because we've been so conditioned to do so from an early age, so a big part of spiritual development for me is to become conscious of this habit of holding, and to allow it to gradually relax. As we do that, repressed emotions might start to arise - that's okay too, that's completely normal and it's actually a sign of progress when it starts to happen, though it might not feel like a good thing. You just have to trust that those emotions will eventually pass, although you'll probably only believe it after they actually have passed.

Great idea, i would put it right above "serious emotional problems" tho, or even merge the two sections ?

Great idea, seems like a missing piece here. There's often a transitional period between say states of depression/victimhood and transcendence/enlightenment for those who had to work through that. Making it its own category puts the focus on it directly. You never know it could save someone's life or life situation if it's a loving and supportive space.

The labeling of the section could be different too, but we need it.

Hat off to you @Shin

That's exactly what's missing in this forum. I mean it just shows: You created 1 thread for this, it exploded overnight before the data loss happened. You created a second one and no other thread is anywhere as popular as this one. (Except megathreads) This thread is almost a subforum section on its own. Lots of people finds refuge there from the egocentric masculine aggressivity around here. You can feel the energy in there is different already. A lot of eye-opening topics tossed around within this single thread. Clearly there's a demand for more. It would create a great balance in this forum. Edit: @Leo Gura ?
