Needed, not needed ?

Explain your perspective below please :)

I love you shin.

Good idea because I'd love to hang out there and share insights.

Bad idea because too many sections. Looks kinda forced in.

Maybe, but emotions are the most important thing if not the most important thing in life.
Not having a section dedicated for it is a huge problem imo.

It must also feed the assumption that many newbie have about not needing to take care of their emotions, cause they are all "illusory and transitory anyway"

Spiritual bypassing is HUGE in this forum.
Now ofc it's always gonna be something newbies tend to do, but not having a section about it just makes it even worse than it needs to be.

Bad idea. There is no self. No self... no emotions do work through. This goes against the core of this work. Mods please close this asap

What did the stage orange scientist call the stage blue fundamentalist for claiming YHWH intentionally caused Noah’s great flood?

There is already a lot of other things that that subforum is doing :)

Agree with this idea. Forum needs more integration of Stage green and the feminine side of the spiral. What better way than a literal space dedicated alone to it?

Yes, in my opinion the benefit of a section like that would be to carve out a space where people feel safe to drop their standards and ideals for themselves. It wouldn't jive well beside topics about habits and productivity, which are important topics unto themselves. A lot of what holds this place back in my opinion is the felt need to always make a quality post or to show one's knowledge as if we are all meant to be teachers here or something. When someone is exploring their understanding or emotions it does not make for a quality post, but it can be incredibly enlightening and break down blockages that prevent real understanding from arising. It would be a place where intelligent, purposeful vulnerability can be made space for.

People sometimes forget that an insight is marked by an incredible feeling of knowing that comes with it. This is what we seek when we seek knowledge, not knowledge in exclusion of that. The feeling IS the knowing.

@Shin it's a great idea. But it will need strong loving moderation from the outset, otherwise it will degenerate into "I'm more loving than you" or "emotions are silly" type battles. And the super-rational-analytical-left-brained types will need to be kept in check too (guilty).

I'd love to see such a section arise.

We already have "I'm smarter than you" and "emotions are silly". It won't make much of a difference. :)

So, what is Leo's stance on all of this? Seems like he's not interested in addressing it or ignoring the request, as for now?

Maybe he's taking some time to think about it. Idk

Regardless of whether we get a new section or not, we can all lead by example (and do already) and show that empathy and emotional intelligence and unconditional love are important and part of the mix. I know that I could definitely improve in these areas. I realise it's a like swimming against the current, but it's doable. Let the workers revolt! Sorry, I mean forum members work in partnership...

I adore this forum but I'm not particularly the teacher or intellectual kind. I feel relegated to the journaling section, which I love don't get me wrong, for self development. It would be cool if there was a place where I could be my vulnerable, emotional, self exploring non intellectual self (under moderation of course) without feeling uncomfortable or isolated.

The section would be used the same way as the others, with a focus on how to handle emotions, how to do shadow work, how to love yourself etc.

It wouldn't be a lay back and free talking section of the forum like the journaling section.

All those things like self-love, emotions, healing and shadow work are, of course already teached in other sections, but they are secondary to each of them, not the main focus, and therefore you can't really open a thread in them without feeling they are a bit out of place.

In the general self help, you don't care much about your emotions there, you focus on habits, productivity, some other practical stuff and the stages on the spiral exemples.

The meditation forum is about all the mystical things in life, with a focus on transcendance of the "self" and "higher" states of consciousness.
Again you can talk about emotions, healing and shadow work, but it's not the focus of the forum, the focus is explaining "higher" states of consciousness.

The dating relationship sexuality forum is about how to relate to other people and your closed ones, and how to have good sex. It is again possible to talk about emotions, healing and shadow work, but it's again not the main reason you want to come to this forum, you come to have practical advices on how to handle those relations specifically, not how to do meta healing, self love.

All other forums are oviously not fit to support those topics.

Of course you'd up the quality, like I already do on the forum.  To put too many restrictions though will take away from the right brained/yin presence on the forum.

Guys, how can i develop self love? Can you share some practices?

I tried metta meditations when i was on retreats, but instructions wasn's clear i think. It was something like "imagine small little cute animal, how you care of it, how you feel about it and then transfer that feeling on yourself". When i do that i don't feel pretty much anything. That makes me feel even less self-loving, because i start thinking that i somehow can't love myself.
