Meditation Question-feeling Energy Waves

5 posts in this topic

Hi, Ego here.

Have been meditating a little over three months.  Last week I ate 2.5 grams psilocybin mushrooms for my first time.  I followed Leo's video.  Did the research. Took during the day, stayed in my room by myself.  My intention was set on seeking truth.  I didn't get that much out of it.  Sort of had a feeling of no self but I was definitely looking for it so I'm not convinced it was anything.  I felt like I was thinking too much. Trying to figure it out. Side note: the visuals were amazing.  My pupils turned into gorillas and elephants were rotating in my curtains.

Since then, my meditation has definitely changed.  It's getting deeper.  I have started to get these waves of energy.  I can't seem to find the origin by they go up to my forehead, I get in a heavy meditative state and then it starts all over.  This now happens throughout the day and while meditating, it can last up to 2 hrs.

Do you know what this is?  Just part of the process?  Should I follow the waves or just feel it or ignore it?

Also, do any of you think marijuana helps or hinders the meditation process?

@Green Warrior whatever those waves are, you observe them as sensations. that's all, sensations. leave them alone.

marijuana hinders the meditation process. actually, it drives you towards distraction, which is the opposite way you're supposed to go.

I have something similar going since I did 5-MeO-DMT. With normal psychedelics I always have an afterglow for maybe a day or two but with MeO it's now about 4 weeks that I took it and I still get random hits of awareness. It feels like a MeO-onset but then goes away and leaves me relaxed and fresh. Sometimes it's quite weired, because I'm like in a restaurant ordering food, speaking with somebody, and then it hits me and I'm like: "Dude, you can't have a no-self experience right now, you're ordering food." So for me it's bursts of awareness that break through. Very cool.

They want reality, so I give 'em a fatal dosage.

@Azrael haha I know. It sometimes happens when I'm driving with my two kids and I definitely panic but you're right. It is cool. Thanks for providing more insight.
