Psychedelics & their role in creating permanence

2 posts in this topic

So I've had these mushrooms laying around for a little while now, & I tell myself I won't take them until I'm at a healthy level of emotional development. I also tell myself I won't take them until I have all my egocentric inconveniences aligned into a balance amongst our culture. I fear if I take them, I may have some sort of permanent realization, & start sabotaging my life thereafter. As though, I will start to become lazy & see things like money, relationships, & overall culture as a lot less important. I want to still have the capability to work my job, do my regular self-development, meditate, & all other things I did before taking psychedelics.

It seems as though fear is a crutch I'm holding onto for dear life & it's happy to stay right where it is.

What are some possible reasons for a fear like this to come up?

What are some good questions to ask myself to remedy this situation?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks for any help :)

Will it be your first trip? All those things won't fly out the window with one mushroom experience. I think it's an incorrect assumption that you will stop caring about money, relationships and culture after a mushroom trip.

You may begin questioning those things on a different level. Something that may ultimately lead you in better directions anyway.

People who do psychedelics and start deconstructing those things don't not care about them, they may or may not just have new ideas about them that they have gained from their trips.

Mushrooms are great. Really truly amazing. My guess is you will be very very pleasantly surprised by your experience and will have an even deeper appreciation for life as a whole.
