Meditating with a Mala

I've ordered a Mala for helping me count my breaths in meditation. Does anybody here use Malas for meditation and can give me some advice or techniques on how to use them properly? or what I can use it for apart from counting my breath?

@Tim R yes malas are really effective. I need to get one as well.

@Tim R I wear my mala wrapped around my wrist as a reminder to bring myself back to the present moment and connect with my breathe. Every time I see it I re-center. I’m doing it anywhere from 10-50 times a day. 
 

But for meditation I prefer to be completely still as to disconnect from the “body”. The body disappears when you’re not aware of it. The body is the first thing to go (in meditation) followed by thoughts and then you get nothing. Nothing is the SHIT!
