What much different would humanity be if we had sex like Bonobos

8 posts in this topic

Sex is such an uncormfortable topic. It is an intimite activity but it's a natural urge we all have. I feel we often under appreciate the impact sex has on the overall function and health of society.

There have been some recent studies that suggest a large portion young men aren't doing it.This will certainly have some profound impacts on society as a whole. Sex (meaning access to sex) is a huge incentive for young men. Part of this dynamic is how we perceive sex. And ones level of access to sex has become an emblem that signifies your social status.

But how would we have organized our civilization if sex (particularly access to sex) wasn't used as such a divider between social classes, the powerful and powerless etc? What if it was done with same level of triviality we view a common greeting? What if we viewed it as just another act that doesn't ilicit shame and judgement from others?

I think in really old days, like in times when civilization had just begun,  sex was probably more easily available because social norms weren't so deeply entrenched, just my speculation

Sex was seen differently at the old times. There were even temple priestesses called Sacred prostitutes as remembrance on how sex was more open than now. It was seen as empowering thing and not shameful like now.

Unfortunately with the arrival of society, Many wounds have been made in the collective female psyche.  Like the kurgan invasion, inquisition ( burning women at the stake), rape gangs, and Arabic treatment (hijab wearing, no driving license, other restrictions) etc.

At this point, women do rarely open themselves sexually. Only when away from the prying eyes of "society". That is why men are frustrated with this and are doing PUA. This however does not help to heal emotionally for both parts but only temporarily helps tickle your pickle.

Are bonobos competitive like human males?

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Wouldn’t that make sex purely transactional? Abundant, but not intimate or fulfilling.

The 'olden times' you're talking about was a rape and pillage culture. It wasn't women opening themselves sexually! That stage of humanity has yet to come.
