Feeling of jealously in the body

6 posts in this topic

Sometimes I engage in a strange addiction...I won't specify the details (unless you are really curious you can DM me) but what makes this addiction so addicting it's because I usually see people that get me veeery jealous.

This jealously feeling produces a uncomfortable sensation (anxiety), which then, I try to eliminate by doing something ( this is the addiction itself).

What is this sensation? What is it doing here? How to eliminate it, accept it, or trascend it?

I have contemplated the fact that maybe the people that I see jealous of they don't consider themselves that privileged, but this is just an idea, maybe they do considered themselves privileged.

Why does it matter to you what they consider themselves? Your idea of privilege is your own. You don't generally give much thought to ways in which you have freedoms others don't do you?

Jealousy often comes from a failure to believe in one's own desires and dreams, and a lack of attention to appreciating yourself and others.

@Javfly33 Try this exercise when you experience this again and see how it goes:

when the feeling arises:

Sit in a place where you are alone for 10 minutes.

Focus on where the feeling is located inside of your body. This will be uncomfortable at first, and requires a bit of discipline.

When you locate the feeling, Expand it as much as you can, Fill the whole room you are in with that feeling until it does not feel like "Jealousy" anymore.

Stay with that expanded or "zoomed in" feeling, it will actually feel good after you expand and stay long enough, then you are good to go.

After doing that multiple times, i usually find that the feeling that bothers me doesn't really anymore, and usually the feeling subsides on its own as time passes.

Good luck ❤️

No but how is this related to my problem?

@Mosess thanks I will try it.

I think it's difficult to do because it's though to sit with the pain at first.

The pain of being inferior. Yeah. It's that.

You’ve moved expressively from jealousy, but stopped at blame.

Keep moving up the scale.

Jealousy doesn’t produce anxiety. It’s relieving, better feeling, than unworthiness and powerlessness. Go up the scale as you expression each emotion, not down.

It’s blame...express that this blaming leaves you worrying and doubting, and continue up the scale.

Maybe they feel their thoughts and you’re feeling yours.
