About knowledge, truth and emotion...

2 posts in this topic

As many of you surely know, there seems to be a certain point in ones philosophical inquiry when it doesn't seem to make any sense to philosophize about knowing or truth anymore, as you always eventually hit a brick wall.

But.. I've recently come to a new understanding, which is to see knowledge and truth within practical & emotional framework. This would most simply be explained by "choose the truth that feels good". Feeling is always actual and always directly available. And what every human being ever wants, is to feel good. So why not to choose the truth that makes you most excited and connected to life?

Of course, in practical sense it would be stupid not to believe that drunk driving is dangerous, or ingesting poison can kill you, for example. But that which is regarded as "practical" is ultimately based in feeling.

I've come to call this "body-truth". Why would truth be a mind-thing, a thought? What if truth is feeling? If nothing in the mind is real anyway in an absolute sense, why not to create your world, your relative truth as an expression of your feelings?

Everyone is waiting for eternity but the Shaman asks: "how about today?"
