Serious Problems

4 posts in this topic

My girlfriend has serious problems, like unemployment and divorce. They are not emotional problems, I think they are "real problems". She got a report today and her daughter can be taken to the orphange (or her father). Of course, she is afraid of losing her child. We also live in different countries(another problem). We lived together 6 months and then I moved.

How can I support her in this situation?

How can you handle this kind of serious problems?

Wow, this is a tough one. I don't have the experience or knowledge to answer, but I will say you are under no obligation to take responsibility for anyone, especially if mentally unstable.

Thank you anyway..

Just be there for her.  Listen to her. Dont try to fix her.  Help her to help herself.  Mostly people just want somebody to connect with and mirror their emotions.    If you are a generous person and in the position to help her financially then you could also do that but of course this is entirely up to you and you have no obligation to do so.    The best thing you can do is just be her friend and support her emotionally.

Wisdom is settling in and experiencing reality in the moment.
