Changing environment - your experience.

2 posts in this topic

I would like to hear your experiences with changing environment. It really makes a difference? By environment I mean, for example, moving to another city or home, or making new friends. I want to hear your history!

I want to make a change in my enviroment so i am more in contact with my true desires. Where I am now gives me an unnecessary stress... It feels like i am dealing with a wall. Buuut, asking for my mother to give me a place to live, "just" to follow my dreams, and NOT STUDYING, would sound crazy to her :o

May your history inspire me. And if you were in a similar situation,  better xD

I'm also very interested to know if anyone changed their environment during their teens because they were in this dead end situation, and eventually found their true passion.

Coming from an Asian family, I was basically forced to either become a doctor or lawyer during my teens which were totally not suitable jobs for me. I was this very mediocre Asian, which in my parents' eyes was a huge problem. And unfortunately I didn't know better, so I eventually banged my head against the wall enough times to pull myself into college, get a degree, and become a software engineer. My current job pays very well, and so I do have the financial freedom that I sort of enjoy today. But during my student years, I can tell you I was NOT happy. I also consider my current job to be a mediocre one, a job I do just to get paid. I don't have a lot of friends, and most of the time I just keep to myself. I think the idea of doing what I should be doing instead of what I truly want to do over the years has eroded my ability to enjoy life and just be myself. It might have also limited my social abilities, as I had certain ideologies and false narratives growing up, and so I couldn't relate to people as a normal person could.

Thankfully I found Leo and identified a lot of the issues that I had.

I hope you find a way out, could you share what your dream is?
