Are masculine energy and Ego directly correlated?

6 posts in this topic

Many spiritual doctrines including Buddhism and Taoism either hint at or directly state that Feminine (Yin) is the door to spirituality/emptiness/wave where the Masculine energy (Yang) is related to form/matter/particle. In my experience Ego is a byproduct of the paradigm of survival and body-identification. So if masculine is about form/matter/particle does that mean that masculine-centric society will also be more primitive/survivalist/fear-centric/ego-centric while a feminine-centric society would be more spiritual/heart-centric? Or is that masculine/form/particle is actually independent of ego/survival and simply serves a function without directly influencing ego-centrism? Thanks.

Yes, and the femenine too, its like the very primitive form of energy that creates the Human. You should not try to hide or supress any of them

Both masculine and feminine energies have their part in spirituality.

At the heart of spirituality is surrender, which is feminine. The more you surrender, the more your ego gets reduced. In that sense, masculine energy could be regarded to correlate with ego.

But in order to do hardcore practices (which also result in less ego) you need masculine energy.

So the best is when you have both energies and are very flexible, so that you can effortlessly tap into whatever energy suits the current situation best.

After walking the path for a long time, you will likely have more feminine energy. Because high baseline consciousness is only possible with high surrender.

Jesus comes to mind :)

"When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."

I’ve been cultivating/ experimenting with masculine energy for quite a while and I can honestly say there are so many degrees to each feminine and masculine and they all have different purposes that I wouldn’t say one is just for form/matter etc while the other is just for spirituality.

yes, what people stated above is true, however there are masculine spiritual practice that can take you directly to truth. And feminine spiritual practices that take you to the truth in a different manner.
some use both masculine and feminine.
honestly, truth can be found from any energy if the right path is taken.

ego does not equal masculinity.

society has portrayed a curtain type of masculine principles to people and said this is masculinity, however I’m sure you know there is so much more.

if your low conscious then yeah ego = masculinity

same can be said for feminine too. If your low conscious then it just is ego.

however then that just points to low conscious = ego and high consciousness = less ego.

tbh, As a masculine male I can say I can come off as having an “ego” by spiritual people (not that anyone has ever said so) because it may be “harsh” or smth. Idk. It’s not as soft as feminine energy is all I’m getting at. Anyways, nice question bud.

I’ll Answer this real quick too. Masculine is both part and not apart of ego.

it’s apart as that is the selfs identity. However it is also not apart as masculine energy is that which is is. Isness per say.
depeds which angle you look at it.
depends on the masculine person level of consciousness too.

go more based off of someone’s level of consciousness, and life experiences. Not just “masculine” or “feminine”

It’s to complex to bring it down to just either or.

Let's look at this from the chakra perspective. There are 3 masculine and 3 feminine chakras. The masculine are:

  • Root chakra - physical survival
  • Naval chakra - power
  • Throat chakra - rationality, communication

Feminine are:

  • Sacral - intimacy, passion
  • Heart - love
  • Head(ajna) - ego, duality

We experience our ego as being in the middle of our head. This is the ajna chakra. That's why it's considered the master chakra. When it is closed you experience duality and ego, when it is open you are present and self-trancendended. When it is completely open you experience non-duality.

The other chakras in sushumna(energetic spine) are reflected in ajna. For example, when we experience anger we feel it in our head and navel chakra simultaneously. Anger is a contraction of the navel chakra and when it's experienced the ajna chakra also contracts into duality/ego. On the other hand if we experience joy in our navel chakra, then ajna also opens into boundlessness/happiness/transcendence.

However if you open the ajna chakra through for example witnessing meditation. It can remain uncontracted/present/witnessing despite the contracting force of anger.

So... The sum total of how open or closed our bottom 5 chakras are (both masculine and feminine chakras) the less ego we have which isn't a gendered pursuit. But pursuing wittnessing/ajna is a feminine pursuit. Also pursuing healing of the lower 5 chakras is an expression of love/the heart chakra which is also a feminine pursuit. So wanting to heal anger is a feminine pursuit but the result is positive masculine energy in the navel chakra/ joy.

Hope this makes any sense ?

The road to God is paved with bliss.
