An Indian woman's struggles in Life

This is a difficult topic for me 

 

As an Indian woman I have suffered Generational trauma. 

It's important to understand life through my perspective.

Indian women lead some of the most distressing disturbing and difficult lives in the world. 

On average, Indian women suffer highest rates of depression for a demograph in the world. 

It's not easy to understand an Indian woman's struggles

Being an Indian woman is a very difficult thing. 

First of all you are not even considered a human being if you are an Indian woman. 

You're basically considered a property of your society. 

There are many references in Indian movies where the Indian woman is referred to as a burden in the family. 

She is considered a liability by her family that needs to be gotten rid of by marrying her off to some random dude

Family pressure on an Indian woman is higher than anywhere else in the world. 

The family carefully controls her every move, 

Everything she does is constantly scrutinized not only by her family but also by society. 

An Indian woman is a product of suppression, oppression and repression 

Years of being oppressed by a male dominated society has caused Indian women to suffer generational trauma on a striking level.. 

The other characteristic of being an Indian woman is that you are literally blamed for everything that is wrong in the world 

You are told by society - 

"Everything is your fault and only your fault." 

It's hard to live in an extremely judgmental society where you are constantly blamed for every little thing. 

How you walk, how you talk, every little thing is monitored.

It's for my security. I suffered a ton of stalking in the past. 

So i don't give out any personal details out of fear 

Also I don't trust people with my information because they can easily betray me.

Indian society being overly judgemental of Indian women 

 

Beauty is a curse in Indian society - how beautiful women suffer harassment in India and how it becomes her biggest curse.

How the British helped Indian women by abolishing Sati - an inhuman practice against Indian women 

Generational trauma of Indian women through centuries of oppression 

Ingrained misogyny in Hindu religion, Indian culture and Indian society.

Another Indian woman dead because of dowry - an inhuman evil practice. 

The most recent suicide of an Indian woman (because of Dowry) boiled my blood and prompted me to write this journal. 

What broke my heart was this video of this Indian woman pleading to her parents before jumping off the bridge, smiling and accepting her fate and giving her last testimony on how society failed her, her husband who mercilessly harassed her for more Dowry and she couldn't come up with that kind of money to pay him and eventually gave up her life due to continuous harassment from her husband. 

It instantly reminded me of the millions of Indian women who either committed suicide or were burned alive for not meeting the demands of the husband and her in laws. And this happened for centuries. 

How many more Indian women will succumb to this evil practice?

When will Dowry stop??????? 

The  suicide case of Ayesha because of dowry harassment from husband. 

Her husband demanded from her  a video of her suicide to ensure that she wasn't being drama queen. 

Pathetic.
