Meditation, NoFap, Wim Hof, Cardio and Keto

9 posts in this topic

First topic I post!

Like many of you here, I assume you also found yourself struggling with some mental health issues the past year, I've recently decided to do something about it and may also be to the benefit of you guys who are trying to self actualize.

It is shocking just how much your experience of life can change if you just add a few things into your life.

As the title already mentions, I have been meditating (breath focus and relaxing muscles), doing nofap (resisting masturbation urges, and orgasm during sex), the wim hof breathing technique (breathing in and out vigorously followed by a pause of breathing - 3 times), cardio during the morning and afternoon, and have been cutting out carbs big time for 2 weeks now, and Its literally like being on some mix of an antidepressant and an amphetamine.

Enjoy guys, Its simple to change your life, there isnt any theory involved here, you just gotta this stuff ↑ everyday and start cashing in on the results 2 weeks in.

So far hunger is a psychological impulse not a physical feeling anymore. No more energy crashes after eating big meals. Much less gastric reflux.

But there is a downside, Im having diarrhea more often.

I don't know how much of the other benefits I can attribute to keto because as you read, im doing a combination of things at once so , beyond what is logical, it's not possible to pinpoint any benefits to one specific lifestyle change.

Benefits like mental clarity and being in the moment/focused could as easily be attributed to meditation as they are to diet. (the case is probably that both have an effect).

For instance: is the keto diet helping me feel happy and energetic all the time or is it the wim hof method or is it the nofap? I dont know the answer to that question.

Good on you for taking action and incorporating some good habits into your life. ? Here are some recommendations you might want to consider.

Cold showers: Feels like shit but feels great afterwards, especially after a run. It's also a great way to challenge your comfort zone.

Skin care routine (after a cold shower!?): This one is pretty meh, the benefits aren't life changing , but it makes you feel and look more fresh in the both senses of the word.

Get some sun everyday if possible: The sun just lifts your spirit.

100% agree, I have tried the cold showers, they are not my cup of tea of course but they do wake you up and energize you. There is something about them that I cannot pinpoint that makes you feel really alive after. I'm sticking to my hot showers for now, but definitely once I am steady on the track of keeping up with my good habits, I will implement this thanks!

Thanks for bringing this up too. I do think that if you look good you feel good, so I will definitely implement a skin care routine. Regarding the last sentence about getting sun: hard to get sun, when there is no sun to get :( #weatherfrommyass

I'm also at this point. All my food cravings are psychological instead of physical now, like it's just a habit. It's pretty cool to witness.

Describe a thought.

@Najim I don't need to read this one bit I can tell by the title.

You're trying to find your flow, this is what you should be doing you're moving in the right direction.

Move towards life in a way where you feel your flow and move away from life where you don't feel that flow, for the latter or where its not healthy in the former, introspect on subconscious beliefs and patterns you may have picked up in the past that are blocking you from experiencing life fully.

It's this simple one step process in life or two steps if you're fixing/replacing the gears for step one.

You got it. This is all that needs to be said from me. Feel free to ask further questions, but only if it feels right, start with feeling then intelligence not intelligence than feeling for feeling is the most visceral form of intelligence connected to being and therefore your connectedness to the rest of reality/universe (I prefer reality, it's more definite than universe which I categorise as a lesser term).

Simple. Done.

Very well put. I hit my head against a wall many many times in life just to understand this as Im sure you also have.

You suffer time and time again trying to do what everyone else is doing until you reach a point where you just do what works for you, its like something clicks and an insight forms that says "Im in this life for me, I'll do what works for me"

I think this mistake of not following ones own flow is rooted in the need to "belong" or to "conform" with certain norms and other people.

You know, advice is not universal, this stuff that I mentioned works for me, but you gotta be very nuanced here, you cant not do something and call it "out of flow" just because its hard to do initially.

I'll tell you this. The Wim Hof breathing was not my jam, nor was nofap, nor is cutting out my fav snacks, but you gotta push through this initial resistance phase to start cashing in on the rewards and that will ultimately bind something to your lifestyle.

Following the logic that: If this shit makes me feel good, if it helps me with everything I do, then doing it is no longer a process of "enduring" but rather its becomes a pleasure and a joy or in other words, it binds to you and becomes part of  "your flow."

Thanks for this great insight but generally speaking in the future you really ought to read posts before you comment underneath them, judging the book by its cover thing:D

Good to hear from you @Origins
