Fear Of Real Life

6 posts in this topic

I'm scared to start living a real life because of the fear that i am not capable enough to live up to the standards i set myself to achieve. How to proceed step by step to achieve my goals?

Sounds like perfectionism. Maybe you are setting your standards too high and looking too far ahead.  Set the goal then Just do the next step and forget it. Enjoy the process because you never get there. There is nowhere to get. The goal posts move all the time.   The most successful people in life are often effected by the impostor syndrome. They have limiting beliefs that they are hacks or phoneys. The truth is nobody has a fucking clue what they are doing. We are all just muddling through this thing called life. Ride lightly in the saddle and enjoy it.  If your perfectionism is crippling seek some help.

The "real" life you lead is based on your beliefs. Your beliefs create your reality. Change your beliefs/standards and you create a different reality. You can already appreciate that the fear is weighing down your reality. Set realisitic goals that focus on enjoying the process; the achievements will come from this.
