Posted October 13, 2016 @Prabhaker I considered that view, but I saw it as an ego trap. I am tempted to think I am high consciousness for realizing my lack of development. But I think if I were to be honest with myself, I am simply a normal neurotic person who has had enough exposure to healthy information to realize his own lack of well being and growth. Posted October 13, 2016 Depends who you're comparing with though, are you comparing yourself to your friends, family, colleagues? I've got a long, long way to go. I've definitely grown though and I'm realising things now that I didn't ever before. One time last week I laughed at myself for all the stories being spun in my head when not so long ago I'd have bought into their rubbish and let them get me emotionally. I'd say that if you are arrogant about consciousness then you're not very conscious at all. So being humble is good - you're not tricking yourself and you're leaving room for growth. Man is not bornneurotic, but he is born in a neurotic humanity and the society. Man as such is neurotic. It is not that just a few men are neurotic, but humanity is neurotic. Perfectionism is a neurosis. It is an illness. And the more you try to become perfect, the more frustrated you will become. Become an ordinary person. The only miracle, the impossible miracle, is to be just a simple normal person.

So if everything looks negative and everything looks destructive and everything looks inimical, against you, it is because you do not have the positive center in you... If you feel negativity all around you, it simply shows you are negative within. The world is just a mirror, and you are reflected in it. Be a monk, you will find similar problems, your mind will create similar world again.
