Do you have questions for Ken Wilber? (serious questions only)

27 posts in this topic

It just got confirmed that a friends of mine gets to interview our beloved godfather Ken Wilber for Denver Westword (no promises though).

If you have any questions for him, comment here, I will pass them along. The questions should be centered around how to make sense of the social/political/environmental world we find ourselves in today. It should be widely accessible to read for everyone, so it will be a bit dumbed down.

I will link the interview here when it's published.

Is the deep state real?

If you have no confidence in yourself, you are twice defeated in the race of life. But with confidence you have won, even before you start.” -- Marcus Garvey

Have your friend ask him "when you say Yellow/Teal is about including the lower stages, how does that manifest in real-world terms, beyond meaningless rhetoric? Or is it basically all about the rhetoric?" xD

Bernie Sanders?

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

How is societies current transition between stages going? Is it not smooth enough, is it possible society will revert?

How do you feel about claims that young people in western countries lack meaning in their lives?

Do you feel foreign policy reflects understanding of stages, or do larger countries try to force smaller countries to skip stages?

Lol, theres a huge difference between Wilber and Beck, I highly doubt he voted for Trump.

"The world is in turmoil. As populist waves roil the Brexit-bound UK, along with Europe, Turkey, Russia, Asia—and most visibly, the US with the election of Donald Trump—nationalist and extremist political forces threaten the progress made over many decades. How did we get here? And how, with so much antagonism, cynicism, and discord, can we mend the ruptures in our societies?

In this provocative work, philosopher Ken Wilber explains why there is cause for hope. He lays much of the blame on a failure at the progressive, leading edge of society. This leading edge is characterized by the desire to be as just and inclusive as possible, and to it we owe the thrust toward women’s rights, the civil rights movement, the environmental movement, and more. This is all evolutionarily healthy; what is unhealthy is a creeping postmodernism that is elitist, “politically correct,” and that looks down on “deplorables.” Combine this with the techno-economic demise of many traditional ways of making a living, and you get an explosive mixture. As Wilber says, for some Trump voters: “Everywhere you are told that you are fully equal and deserve immediate and complete empowerment, yet everywhere are denied the means to actually achieve it. You suffocate, you suffer, and you get very, very mad.”

He is watching Blue and Green from a birds eye view.

Are stage green movements like Black Lives Matter a viable option, and what would stage yellow equivalents look like?

On your deathbed, what is the one sentence you would send to the world?

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.
