Are There Higher States Of Consciousness?

Is there such a thing as higher states of consciousness? Can someone raise their level of consciousness?

I've heard conflicting reports on this. Some say the idea of states and stages of consciousness is delusional, but on the other hand it seems obvious that different people are at different levels of understanding and realization.

 Is there anything important on this topic I missed?

Actually, the absolute conscioussness NOW is always the same, there are no levels, you are that, there is only that. But within in the apparent story of the ego, the goal is to raise the frequency/state of consciousness of the present moment. The present moment and NOW are not exactly the same, the first points to the picture, the second to the film which is made of the pictures. So in the picture, there can be a high or low state of consciousness, but the film is consciousness itself - neither low nor high.

Many ways you could look at it, raising your vibration, how alined with the truth are you, how unconditional your love is, what you are able to desern moment to moment, how pure your energy is, etc.

Depth of conciousness is always fluxtuating, there is a baseline that you have that homeostasis oscillates from. Until the ego is completely dissolved, then there never was any stairs to climb.

You are already 100% You, but attachment to ego blocks the light out.
