You cannot ever become fully present... because you already are!

Ok, so you ain't awake and are playing the Advaita card.

Cool.

This guy is pretty much legit and the first post is actually quite a helpful pointer.

Zen masters tend to play paradoxical games and give confusing answers on purpose since enlightenment cannot be grapsed/realized by the mind. Koans exist for this very reason. Every single idea you have about it, it's not it.

And yes, this can be really frustrating, but there's no other way. Either you completely stop and listen to the silence as long as it takes or you keep entertaining thoughts and ideas thus running in circles.

Who are you?,

'You' are a pattern of thoughts being produced by an organism, which is being produced by it's environment. You are a manifestation of the Universe the way a whirlpool is a manifestation of the Universe.

Could you show me a whirlpool without showing me that which is not the whirlpool?

What is a whirlpool?

Is there really a 'whirlpool' somewhere in the river, separate from the river? Where does the whirlpool go when the river dries up?

Look in the mirror human. To embody non-duality is not about pretending to not be human, it's about being in your natural state, free from delusions and beliefs. That's why there are many advanced spiritual teacher who never talk about these "No one here"-Neo-advaita-ideas, it's not needed and it creates confusion.

I agree, The state when one hadn't yet heard of meditation or being present, one wasn't monitoring thoughts and trying so hard to get to a thoughtless state.

When there's effort, there's effort. When there's no effort, there's no effort.

This video comes to mind. Enjoy bro :)

I appreciate the help but I don't think it's possible for me to awaken with meditation unfortunately.

Osho is fun to watch tho ?

Yep, Osho is great, laugh lessens the need "to wake up".

Definitely. But I feel I want to wake up not just because of "ego importance of knowledge" but because I see I could live life so much fully and joyfully if for example id know if death is real or not.

I might be very weird but "Stopping seeking" doesn't tell me if death is real or not for me.

Stopping seeking doesn't end my confusion. It doesn't end the fear guys....

So that's why I suspect only true awakening can end the fear .

@Javfly33

Time is an illusion, right? So, you never wake up if you think there is true awakening in the future. Sure, try different tools, but you won't realize whether death real or not by asking guys on the forum & pointing who is more awake. Don't stop seeking, but see that "the thinking game" is the game of apparent ego, not actual you. By "thinking game" I mean the game of a desired outcome in the future, a lack of knowledge, blame, fear, guilt, desire to be right, seriousness, etc. You can live fully & joyfully now.

What a dream, what a joke, love it   :x

The challenge of Awakening is recognizing there is no one asleep ❤

Sure, you are always present. But, are you present?  Are you of a high quality, highly aware and health presence?

The problem is that right now you are not able to stop seeking, even if you wanted to; and so you (seem to) have no possible way of finding out what would happen if you TRULY stopped seeking. Like, just completely STOPPED for real.

Nobody can teach you how to stop. You just need to reach the point where you spontaneously and without effort stop dead in your tracks because you simply don't have any more power left to keep on running. And then, when you truly stop for the first time in your life, you will discover that all of the running after some illusory goal you've been doing was the very thing that made your life so miserable in the first place!

Trust me, it's an amazing discovery.

I think you stop searching when you realize that you are ... nothing. an empty hole that pretends to be something. there is nothing to think about here. It is something really strange because how can an empty hole pretend to be something or do anything? it's incomprehensible. and the empty hole without quality is pretty scary when you think that you have qualities. thinking it is evident that nothing will be achieved, as you are a emptiness. The search is not to look for something but to withdraw qualities from yourself to become as similar as possible to who you really are: a hole of nothing. Maybe when you realize that often, or every moment, you will understand, let's see, at least it's liberating, even it's like sad in some aspects. I don't want to say that I understand, only glimpses to the nothing
