Going through an intense, strange time, need some guidance

4 posts in this topic

I've been and am continuing to go through a quite strange time filled with a lot of intense emotions and experiences I can't make much sense of. I try to see it as a necessary deep dive into my inner darkness as a part of the healing journey, but the worries about what is happening just keep gnawing in the back of the mind. I have been on the path of spiritual work and self-actualization for a bit more than two years, so I'm still quite a newbie in a way. Could really use to talk to someone who's further down the road. Thanks in advance to the kind souls whose wisdom might be helpful to me.^_^

I don't know you or what you're going through, but here's my experience, maybe it's similar maybe it's not

I had to face my demons face to face. I was addicted to Porn and masturbation a lot. This was hard and dark for a short while because I literally had to kill my old self. But I knew I had to do it because nobody can save me but me, nobody really gives a fuck about me but me, and nobody may walk my path in life but me. You are on your own journey and this cannot be voiced to anyone because you are the only one.

I came out of it stronger and a better person on all levels, closer to God. Of all the times I tried to change, I bitched out, backslid, but then one of the times, I had to face it with courage, kill my old self, completely change who I was on all levels mentally physically spiritually and live a new life. I've came out on a higher vibration and a better person, closer to God. Like my Heart has changed.

It is often times easier to fight a monster when you know the name of it and can see its face. It is a little unnerving to be up against an invisible and nameless opponent. Try to reassure yourself that there is a reason for these feelings though you may not know what that reason is at this moment. And see if you can let go of emotions about your emotions. For example, fear that you are angry. In this example, let go of the fear and then the anger. That will make things flow much smoother.

If you can take a complex of emotions and slowly tease it apart by letting go of smaller emotions one at a time, you can more effectively and efficiently work through the whole complex. I will use an example from my life. In thinking about leaving my job, I get a big knot of emotions in my chest and stomach. Instead of trying to release the whole thing at once and feeling ineffective, I can first let go of small things around the periphery such as missing my old coworkers, missing the drive to work, fearing the uncertainty of getting a new job, etc. Much luck to you.
