I Have A Cat Problem

Cat problem

My cat likes all the flavours in a multipack apart from Beef.

The multipack works out a lot cheaper so I buy it and each week try the cat on Beef.

Once a week when we try the beef, the same thing happens.

The cat sniffs at the food, tries it, leaves it. Comes begging in the kitchen making a nuisance. Get locked out.

Other cats come looking for food. Cat gets into stand offs with other cats. Becomes more nuisance.

Other cats eat his food. By dinner time he is even more hungry so we put the other half of the beef out and the same thing happens all over again.

He gets more and more hungry and doesn't learn from one week to the next that if he doesn't eat his food - there's trouble ahead.

Am I mean to the cat?

Is it me that is stupid because the cat isn't being fussy, but this is a survival instinct to only eat what it likes (thinks is safe)

      - if so, why do all the other cats eat it.

Is the cat really the intelligent one, because he fears not for his next meal. If he doesn't like it, he doesn't link these events to the previous weeks occurance like a human would do?

He also worries not for his next meal. He simply doesn't like it - so doesn't eat it?

Are my criticisms of the cat actually a reflection of how a human would be neurotic over what occurred from one week to the next - and the cat SIMPLY DOES NOT CARE OR THINK ABOUT IT?
