Neck Problems - Concerned about my Arteries

12 posts in this topic

For the past 3-4 days I've had a really sore kneck.

It's become particularly bad today.

It's hard for me to turn my head left or right & I feel this click movement.

I'm worried about my arteries.

I was working out often until 4-5 days ago & I would normally go hard using weights & cardio together in a bag & probably damaging myself, overdoing it & maybe using bad form.

My mother told me about an athlete who died from lifting weights because of her arteries & she over trained.

I don't like moving my head  (kneck) I just want to lie down because it clicks  & it hurts.

In fact right now I can barely turn my kneck left or right.

Hey, I would give qigong a try. We can work out our bodies in a lot of ways.
take time and use your hands to massage the area around your neck. rest for a few days.

I've heard about rare cases of brain aneurysm from extreme pressure caused by powerlifting but you are looking at people who deadlift 400kilograms not your average human being. Most likely you have stiff neck muscle and either need to get a massage or just take a break for few days, refeed, rehydrate and do regular stretching morning, evening.

It sounds like neck tension, like a trapped nerve and pain caused by trigger points and knots in the neck/shoulder muscles, very painful and exactly what happened to me.

how is your posture? Are you working at a computer or doing something repetitive that would cause strain on the shoulders and neck? Or have you been stressed or have anxiety.. Could be all of these things.

I was dealing with this issue and pain in my shoulders and neck for months. Turns out I had a load of knots in my neck, in the back at the base of the skull.  They usually build up over a long time and cause tension all over.

First I went to a chiropractor several times, I learned a lot about posture and misalignment, but it did nothing for the pain.  I was needing to massage my neck every day and it was exhausting.

I actually rid my self of the pain by starting to lift dumbbells and working to strengthen the trapezius muscle. I now do daily shoulder shrugs with 5kg in each hand, combined with other dumbbell excercises plus daily neck stretching.  I have to be conscious about my posture.  Be careful and start with stretching, those trigger points can be extremely painful, and they need worked out.

try this 10 minute neck yoga:

The neck bone's kneckted to the...

@Striving for more You might need to retrain yourself to lift weights without straining your neck and improperly engaging your neck muscles in the process. Also some ab exercises can be hard to do without improperly straining your neck. A lot of people have a hard time with this.

Getting a good pillow for neck support can make a difference long term if it's a posture thing as well. A lot of the time we do intense workouts and sit on the computer with bad posture the rest of the day, not a good combination.

All jokes aside, being a non- native english speaker when I was young I used to say K-nife , K-night , K-nock, K-nowledge, K-nob. I didn't know the K was silent and no one told me as I was deciphering the english language by myself from Windows 98 games lmao. (  Helherron, anyone ? ) Besides many other words that I had been using wrong literally for a decade.

to OP : Many times I sleep in a fucked up position and my kneck hurts for days as well. If it doesn't go away go to a doctor  (?)

I feel you.

I have so much respect for people who learn a second language and actually communicate with it. My high school made a mistake and accepted a student who knew NO English whatsoever, only Spanish. I ended up in gym class with her, and I was the only one who had taken Spanish at all. I tried my best to communicate with her, and very rarely did I get anything across, except after a few tries she burst into laughter and so did I. That was the only real communication that happened. xD

You gotta be kidding me.

English is my second language.

But God, if I even tried to say knight with the k, I feel my tongue rolling hahaha xD

Next Leo makes a video where every word is pronounced by placing a k at the start.

@mmKay Agreed. English spelling is a nightmare and is in bad need of a reform in my opinion.
