Do You Tell People About Their True Self?

4 posts in this topic

I was at the gym today and talking to a gentleman. He was telling me that he didn't like how messed up the world is. He was saying he wanted peace. He also asked me if I believe in reincarnation and I said no but I'm open to the possibility of it. I know how reincarnation works but I didn't want to tell him that he is God and that God is expressing itself in an infinite amount of ways. I'm just using the word God here for simplicity. I understand where most people come from but I don't see the world the way they do. I'm not attached to politics, culture, religion, science, or any other label that society believes in. I don't think it's wrong to be at a lower consciousness either because that is the way God is working through these people. After knowing all of these things, we can enjoy the world a whole lot more. What do you guys think? Do you tell people the reality of their existence or do you play along? LOL

I have discussed my spirituality with my sister, although she's as low-consciousnand egotistical as they come. She doesn't understand it at all, but she listens to me at least.

I have no one to really talk this kind of stuff with. Everyone is too closed-minded, too dogmatic, too stuck in their little world. It's a lonely existence.

I have a friend that I am sharing a condo with.  He is in physical pain, hates his job and considers that his life is falling apart.  I am wide awake spiritually and have achieved a state of happiness like no other time in my life.  I wish I could tell him that he is Source and creator of all, but I can't and won't do that.  Why you may ask?  Because everyone's search for Self begins with their own basic questions.  Also, sometimes the start of self inquiry happens, (as in my case) with a nudge from the Universe.  My nudge came in the form of synchrocity experiences.  For my room mate it will happen when its supposed to.  I know and am the Truth.  If I told him it would become a belief.  He would also try to have me committed.  I would also consider it rude and a form of proselytizing.

Most of the time I have no interest in talking about enlightenment and spirituality. If someone has their beliefs, let them have their beliefs. I'm not going to hit them over the head and tell them "you must awaken!", as if I'm on some sort of crusade.

But in other circumstances it's very different. For instance, one of my friends the other day who has been looking into Zen called me to ask me questions about it. It was obvious that he was taking it very seriously, so for him I did my best to answers all his questions.

Same thing on this forum and my own blog. If I feel like someone is genuinely ready, then I'll spill my guts for them. Otherwise I'm mostly going to stay quiet.
