Is going to a psychedelic retreat a good idea?

5 posts in this topic

The last time I did any type of drug was 15 years ago, in my teenage years. Ive grown to be scared of bad trips that’s why I don’t do drugs, or drugs by myself.
I’ve been going to psychotherapy for 4 years and I feel so much better about my mental health. But I still feel like I need that final push to heal deep seated trauma.
I found a famous retreat in Jamaica (I live in the US) but it is like $5000 for one week. You  do three rounds of psilocybin with a mentor/guide.
I can afford it. But I can’t denied that it is very expensive and I don’t know if it’s worth it. Thoughts?

I think in your case u should start with low dosage / microdosing on your own - or with a trusted person together. also what its important in your case is your meditation / mindfulness skill. To be able to ground yourself.

work your way up with these tools - they r very powerful / it could put you back in a unhealthy mental state. Besides this retreat is way too expensive. In europe: netherlands or portugal its way cheaper.

I could be wrong - find out what resonates with you - best wishes

There are many psychedelic retreats, also cheaper ones when you find this one is to expensive. It can be good, awesome and lifechanging for you but it can also go bad, I dont know. Start with small doses and work your way up. Be careful, some of them dont know what they are actually doing. So I recommend to research for yourself and trying to be your own expert. I think the best is just trip on your own with a good, trustworthy tripsitter who can help and guide you if its needed. Wish ya the best.

I went to an Ayahuasca retreat in Kentucky for one weekend (two nights of taking the substance/medicine - three days total). It costed $375. It was an amazing experience, and the guy running the retreat is very knowledgeable and experienced spiritually. You even get a membership card for the church that allows you to legally possess natural psychedelics and marijuana in any state (you can’t transport 20 kilos of course lol). This card/membership has already been used to win legal cases for psychedelic users.

If you think the psilocybin retreat is for you, go for it, but I think this is a great alternative choice which is much more financially feasible and requires less travel. This isn’t the only ayahuasca retreat possibility in the U.S., but I can attest to its quality. One of the guys who was there with me said he went a lot deeper in this experience than when he went to an ayahuasca retreat in South America. He expected an ayahuasca retreat in America to be less powerful and overall less effective, but he was pleasantly surprised. I saw the retreat change multiple people's lives in ways they had no hope for change occurring before they finished the retreat. It’s amazing stuff man.
