incredible chance, not ready?

I got accepted into a prestigious school, it’s a big opportunity. Very exciting.

I would be an idiot not to at least try.
It’s for writing. The industry.
A lot of it consists on being able to network, make connections and good impressions.

Here’s my problem, I am quite an awkward person.
I have social anxiety and I can’t make connections so smoothly, I often end up coming across as crude and ingenuine while I mean no harm at all. I just say the wrongs things or the wrong tone.

i am much better at having long discussions one on one exchange ideas. I do believe I am able to create a powerful body of work but

im not the best in groups or social situations.

what do I do?

Is it that groups of people serves you a bad mode trough which to relate?

I will assume that to be the case, for to be approachable in a setting which have 10 ears in one direction and one mouth in 5 is to act accidental to those passions and drives you can understand and share with but two of those ears.

It is to make generalisations, a superset of shared commonalities, which again surves as a divergency in contrast to other sets of groups.

If you have lived this far without a skill as such, then chances are you have no real desire for it today, only as a means to other ends.

Myself i would question those ends, but for you (given that you can develop these skills) i'll advice for a trial and error scheme, in which failure is the only route to success. That is, cringe and awkwardness to be commended.

There's never going to be a "right" moment. Just do it.

And check out the youtube channel Charisma On Command. Their online course is worth looking into as well.
