I want to create a foreign language learning website

I have good ideas. But I'm not going to give them away here in case someone else acts on them 

I am aware of sites like Italki ect... but I believe there are big gaps & limitations in its structure & scope... Uber didn't invent the wheel. 

 

This is not a guaranteed Life purpose. This is all speculation at this point. I just think it would be a cool thing to do. A mega website, that was so good, that it just trumps anything that has come before (Like with this forum/Website for personal development).

I am considering deleting this post because I don't want anyone else to do it first, also I like being mysterious tbh.

Same here. However, I can only work on one of the 100 at a time.

Just start doing it. Chances are, only after you start executing, you will realise how much work it is, and how ridiculous the fear is that someone else will just casually invest that much time and energy in an idea that's not even theirs. The value is in the execution, not in the idea.

You guys should not worry about sharing your ideas if your heart truly aches to create them -- no one can replicate your life purpose. But if it is something generic, yeah, gonna be easy to copy. So I understand if this is not your life purpose.

Yeah, I had a similar idea ~6months ago, since debt is a problem in most of the world, and my country is not an exception, and a lot of people do not understand the legal side of it - contracts, penalties, issues with debt collection agencies etc. And since I have a degree in law, and a 5 year experience in the field, it's something I know in detail good enough to offer my services as a consultant, and created my own webpage for it, where clients are able to send their questions.

And you know what?
It failed! Failed as fuck, I invested my time & money in webpage and FB adds but only a handfull of people have used my shit and it's basically a dying project now.

@meow_meow  If the handful of clients were happy, you can still make it work. It sounds like you went to facebook ads too quickly, before refining your marketing message hypothesis and getting 2-5 clients through organic methods.

I don't know if they were happy, because I didn't recieve any feedback from them, but from my experience, most people with debt are blame shifting and looking for an easy way out, and get mad when noone is offering that, it's the hard way that gets them out of debt which is - repay it or go trough insolvency legal procedures, both are long and painfull in most cases, and they dont wanna do it.

Anyway, no I haven't looked into that course, but it seems like it costs 2k USD? thats insane for me at this moment. 
Maybe the topic author might find it helpfull, but for me, I jumped carrers, dumped the whole law thing and now I'm a developer.

@datamonster All the money in the world doesn't = creativity, passion. 

I didn't mention 99% of my ideas. So how do you know anyone would be able to copy.

If you're scared of anyone stealing your idea, it ain't your life purpose :-) And if it's not your life purpose, you probably won't have the strength to stick to it and make it greater than anything that came before. And even if you could, it wouldn't be satisfying. Better spend some time (and money) on finding your life purpose and taking steps towards that.
