I need help right now.

I've been working on my college applications, and I've been thinking about what I wanted to achieve with my life. When I reflect on my career prospects, I originally wanted to become some sort of doctor as decided by my parents.

However, over time, I've come to realize that I would not enjoy becoming some sort of surgeon, cardiologist, or whatever. I realized that I was on that path purely because at the time, it seemed like the best way to make a living, but  I can't find it in myself to do that kind of work.

Now I'm lost, and as I'm looking over a list of Universities that I have in my hands, it hit me how purposeless I really was. Simply put, I don't know what career I want to go into or what big change I want to bring to the world.

When I first stumbled upon Leo's videos, I was drawn by the Enlightenment and personal-development concepts that he was bringing up. For me personally, I feel that it's something that I want to dedicate my life to. I want to become Enlightened and to explore the field of spirituality and the raising of your consciousness more. I want to develop my model and understanding of the universe and of society to unseen heights.

Yet, I'm not sure how to go about making money off of those things, nor do I feel the need to spread the message to other people. I'm not a prophet, and I don't like putting my image out there.

What can I do? All I wanted from my career was to make some money so I can support myself and focus on personal development/ Enlightenment.

everyone has their own unique ideas and talents. In this life, we're all brought up differently and our ego's manifest itself over years and years and becomes something we can never see coming. If I were you, I wouldn't focus to much on making money. Money isn't real, it's a man made ideal that is very outdated. If you want to make money, focus on being more creative, a more dynamic person that puts themselves in situations that are not comfortable. This way, you can experience more things, and really broaden your mind to the possibilities available. You need an idea if you want to make money, and ideas take years to manifest. An idea comes from know where just like thoughts. But you will find more ideas as you immerse yourself in more knowledge. Focus more on things you're interested in, don't feel obligated to do something just because it's there. Ideas take vision, some ideas are not meant to be the easiest to grasp, they take time and resources to really develop.

I'm glad you're feeling this initial uncertainty! When you start out on self-actualization, there will be a lot of uncertainty where you will feel lost in life and unsure of what to do. What I highly recommend is to apply an experimental and open-minded approach where you tinker with decisions and give them each a test drive and discovering what truly resonates with you. Maybe science is a deep passion for you or maybe the hard sciences overwhelm you! Maybe there's a path to Enlightenment that fascinates you but another possible path might be too hardcore for you! It requires being open minded and experimental and flexible to a variety of opportunities or you can create your own approach or innovate on a tried and tested approach by doing your own variation. The great thing about self-actualization is that all the tools and resources are available and it's you who uses the tools to your advantage or creates your own life! Right now you're in your late teens and that's great because you have plenty of time left to decide what to do with your life.
