Meditation Is Difficult For Me

I do have some good habits like exercise and reading. They were not very hard to pursue. BUT MEDITATION,WHY IT IS SO DIFFICULT FOR ME? I can't even do 10 mins.After trying for like 2,3 MONTHS.

When walking on the street, walk with awareness. It is difficult and you go on forgetting, but don’t be afraid. Whenever you remember again, be alert. Take every step with full alertness, knowingly, remaining with the step, not allowing the mind to move somewhere else. While eating, eat; chew with awareness. Whatsoever you are doing, don’t do it mechanically – and that is different. And when I say that it can be felt only, the meaning is this: for example, I can raise my hand mechanically, but then I can also raise my hand with full alertness. My mind is conscious that my hand is being raised. Do it, try it – once mechanically and then with alertness. You will feel the change. 

Walk with alertness, and you walk differently; a different grace comes to your walking. You move more slowly, more beautifully. If you walk mechanically – only because you know how to walk and there is no need to be alert, then the walking is ugly, there is no grace in it. Do whatsoever you are doing with alertness, and feel the difference.

Your probably meditating with a wrong approach. 2-3 years and you could be stuck in this same place. Too much emphasis on  "I am meditating" won't get you very far. That's just more "me" which meditation is the opposite of. I assume the "difficulty" lies in the fact you can't stop being "you" during meditation. Change that up to-"No one is meditating, meditation is just happening of it's own doing".

@Jhonny can you please specify why its difficult? does thoughts keep running or does your knees hurt etc.?

Sit down 10 minutes every down doing nothing, just sitting down. Don't try to do something spectacular, don't try to let go of something that happens to you if you can't. Just sit. That's not difficult in the beginning. This becomes difficult in a few months when shit really comes up and fucks with your head. Don't make meditation more than it needs to be.


They want reality, so I give 'em a fatal dosage.

Meditate on a chair. It allows me to go for much longer, because otherwise i have bloodflow problems. Meditation on the ground is usually used because when this started chairs were not invented. You dont need to punish the body to meditate.
