Is this the most painful thing about Spirituality?

Nonduality, no exclusion. You are even more wonderful and imperturbable than that state. Because there is no exclusion in actuality, you can only imagine such a thing as exclusion, and because there is no such thing as exclusion, it feels AWFUL to do so. So stop doing it. When you were a kid, a new pack of bubble gum made you blissful. Direct your mind again and again to go back to that state of complete sensitivity and full blown appreciation. It's everywhere, in everything.

@Javfly33 No, how could it be 'difficult' when it is your natural state?

It is much more difficult to identify yourself with a body / mind as that is unnatural. It's like you are living with a clenched fist, but you don't know it's clenched. Awakening stops the clenching & with it brings the relief and relaxation that comes with opening your hand. It's effortless.

It seems difficult from the POV of a separate self, because you are struggling, inquire into the one who is trying to understand this conceptually.

I know it seems very difficult, and this seems to be a necessary stage for most people,, only by understanding the truth of your being will you then realize how effortless it is!

'Effort' is relatively required to investigate & inquire into your experience, and to see through the illusory separate self. but it is very much effortless to live in your natural state of Peace & Happiness, quite simply because it is NATURAL! Just like someone who is 'naturally' beautiful, it doesn't take effort to maintain that does it? It is natural!

Stop fighting with yourself, relax & allow the presence that you are to reveal yourself. And, when necessary or whenever a thought / feeling that is arising on behalf of a separate self arises, investigate it, question it & get to it's source, the more you investigate & understand your true nature, the more you will abide as that.

I will say this though, Awakenings happen instantaneously, even that is saying too much. But Integration takes 'time' you have habits & behaviors you've been doing for years, if not decades. As Rupert Spira says, recognition of your true nature is maybe Chapter 2 in the book!

Seeking ends, flowering never does!

Maybe ?

@Nahm Not being identified with thought, being free, not being prisioned by temporary emotional states or thought stories. Being aware of whatever arises on experience, withouth attaching myself with anything on it.

There’s already no you that’s identified, there’s already no one not free, there’s already no one imprisoned, and there’s already no one being aware. It’s all just already it. Emptiness happening.

”You” don’t get enlightened and unenlightened, “you” ARE the dream that is merely active or not.

Yes, I do believe the dreaded “advaita ultimatum” is apt here.
