Annoying Visual "wobbling" Sensation When Meditating

3 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

so ive been consistently meditating for about a month now( 2 times a day 20 min each).

Overall its going very well and i already get moments of complete stillness, which are only very short but quite amazing.

One thing i noticed, is that the internal voice quiets rather quickly but these visual "wobbling " sensations are much more stubborn.

When i have my eyes closed, it often feels like something is visually "swinging back and forth".Its kinda hard to describe, i hope you get what i mean.

Its not a big deal, just a matter of practive i guess but do you experience that as well?

Thanks in advance! :)

Yeah, and your peripheral vision gets cloudy and your eyes water. I don't know exactly what it is but I think it's a form of sensory deprivation relating to sight. I used to get rapid heart rate and a little anxiety from it too.

Even with closed eyes you will see things -- images of things. Actual things are not there, but images, ideas, collected memories -- they will start flowing.

You can close your eyes; that is easy, everyone closes them every moment. In the night you close your eyes, but that will not reveal the inner nature to you. Close your eyes so that nothing remains to be seen -- no outside object, no inside image of any outside object, just a blank darkness as if you have suddenly gone blind. Not blind only to reality, but to the dream reality also.

One has to practice it. A long period will be needed; it cannot be done suddenly. You will need a long training. Close your eyes. Anytime you feel that it is easy and you have time, close your eyes and then inwardly stop all movements of the eyes. Do not allow any movement. Feel! Do not allow any movement. Stop all movements of the eyes. Feel as if they have become stones, and then remain in that "stoney" state of the eyes. Do not do anything; just remain there.
