Ego dismisses awakening

Why does the ego also dismiss its awakenings. You literally can have an awakening yesterday and the next day your ego will have doubt. Can anyone else relate?

it is also ego which claims awakening

realy awakening is beyond the need of claiming or denying it.

it's like saying the sun is not out when it's sunny outside on a clear day. what does it matter about what you say?  

 

in other words, the fact of it being sunny is present and can be seen. it's larger than what can be said about it. same as awakening. it will be like the sun in the sky. only a delusion can deny it

The ego doesn't awaken. Just the opposite. Whenever you are awake, the ego runs for the shadows. It can't continue pretending to be solid, in the light of Consciousness. First chance it gets, the ego will sneak out and trick you into reidentifying with it, thus resolidifying it with your energy.

Vigilance is required.

Most of my awakenings are happening in dark settings, is this some kind of weird coincidence?

Its normal for the "ego" to doubt but notice that it is only thoughts.

Maybe this is because in dark settings, your physical senses are less engaged. Fewer distractions to entrap your mind, and more room for the light of Consciousness to arise. This is one of the reasons some people meditate with their eyes closed.

I also find that being in nature, especially without naming anything, Consciously resonates.

@Moksha That makes some sense. It might be that being a dark environment makes it hard for the mind to put labels on things, preventing solidity in a grounded reality.
