Is everything a Delusion? Karma and Dharma

21 posts in this topic

So I was meditating early morning and these insights came to my mind.

First I felt like everything was a Delusion. I'll explain why. I had been thinking about capitalism and socialism. And I thought that capitalism is obviously flawed but so is socialism. When someone like Donald Trump says that he has already won the election, it does seem like an obvious case of Delusion, a more pronounced Delusion. But what if we expect that we can change this world for the better by opting for more democratic or stage Green leaders and what if this is also a Delusion, albeit a more silent one? Who is to say that our good intentions and actions are going to be honored by destiny. What if that doesn't happen as we expected or predicted? That would be a slap in the face and a realization that even the best thoughts (no matter how well intentioned) can be delusions.

This line of thinking caused me to come to the conclusion that maybe everything is a Delusion after all, both positive and negative aspects. When we're openly deluded where anyone can see that's its obvious that we're bullshitting ourselves, we're deceiving ourselves. But when we believe firmly that only good will come of our good actions and good will be the final outcome, is it possible that we are still deluding ourselves in a subtle unknowing way, just because such a belief makes us feel more hopeful for the future?

Do you believe that everything that you think about the future of humanity, good or bad is a delusion (since we don't know what ultimately happens)?

An example..

Let's say that you tend a huge farm with great effort and hard work. You want this to benefit humanity with good food for your community. And you take great care of your crops. Yet one day you wake up to find that all your crops have been destroyed by forest animals feeding on crops. Even if your intentions and actions were great, but the outcome or reality wasn't as expected. You didn't account for such unforeseeable factors that destroy your good efforts.

After contemplating for a really long time on the question of Delusion, I came up with certain set of laws that are very helpful in looking at things with clarity.

I call these my Dharma and Karma laws. So I came up with these 8 insights  during my contemplation that I call the 8 laws.

The law of Karma and Dharma according to me

8 laws of Karma and Dharma

1st law

I describe the first law/commandment of karma and Dharma in this manner.

You begin things properly and only then they will end properly also.

You start right and you end right.

When you start wrong there is more entropy. And the ending is also a chain reaction through this entropy leading to chaos and disaster. This is dystopia.

Why do we have dystopia?

Because we don't start right . We already start with bad Karma. That's why everything ends in a bad way.

And that if something is imbued with good intention it is the greatest truth greatest wisdom and greatest good.. But not necessarily greatest reality.

Everything is Delusion good or bad

To have a proper outcome the beginning should also be proper.

2nd law

Quality is more important than quantity

So how many kids you have, how successful you are, how many medals you win these are not important, how much money you make, these are quantitative aspects which are completely wrong. Even survival is a quantitative aspect. It's the quality of the survival which is more  important.

The quality aspect is important. The quality of the given moment, the quality of your time spent, the quality of your mind and heart state the quality of your life these things are important.

3rd Law

Good intention is both good and right

One should always have good intentions.

4th Law.

The greatest good is the good of all.

5th law

Everything is Love. There cannot be anything greater or higher than Love.

6th Law.

If the inside is good, the outside will also be good. As above so below

If something is spiritually right and corrected and in tandem/alignment with spiritual principles with  (there's no spiritual error or flaw or imbalance, in Hinduism the word dosha is used to represent anything that is out of order) then its material or physical Manifestation will also be equally beautiful.

An example to explain this law -

If your inner countenance or mental state is good, then this will also improve your physical health.

7th law

Sensibility and Reality

Even if you began something with good intention it's not necessary that the outcome in reality may  necessarily be good. The outcome may not be good. It's important to be aware of reality.

You're a good person if you have sensibility. Yet it's not necessary that reality will follow your intentions and actions. That is sensibility and reality (the outcome of reality) can clash.

Be prepared for understanding and grasping reality and understand that the expectation that the outcome should also be good just because you had good intentions is a false expectation.

8th law

A true spiritualist is someone who does his Dharma(life purpose and duty) and Karma

A true Spiritualist is a hero of his own destiny. His life is a hero's journey to fulfill both Karma and Dharma.

Dharma means he does his duties, obligations, responsibilities and life purpose. His life purpose is to show the world how to live rightfully. He does good acts in the world to create good, order, love and peace. He reflects God or Godliness through his actions. This is Dharma or the greatest life purpose, nothing but to create good and be a hero

Karma means he has a clean slate. He harms none. He has nothing to hide and he is genuine, sincere and honest in his spirit. He does nothing wrong or sinful or destructive. His karma is  a clean slate. He commits no sin no crime no harm and keeps his heart innocent and blemish free. He is courageous and a Braveheart because he has nothing to hide and has done nothing wrong. A clear conscience to show to God on day of judgement.

Karma also means that he has always embraced the principles of Truth and Righteousness at every point in his life.

Just wanted to share my insights.

Thanks

@Preety_India I like this. Consider also freedom from the fruits of our actions. The dharma way is the spiritual path of unconditional intent.

How do you reconcile delusion and laws together?

I don't see it that way. I can't recognize any rules at all. To me, it all seems illusory.

As Ra would say. Everything is a distortion of the prime law of one. The greatest being free-will, or in other words, perception. Perception creates division, or manyness by introducing perceiver and perceived for the "first" "time".

My idea being, in a way wisdom just point us towards the lesser distortions.
Yet, they are distortions, each one made out of Truth.

Really good post.  Of course, anything having to do with the world (such as politics, social change, etc.) is rife with delusion and self-deception.  Everyone filters news and information according to their biases, and there's plenty to lead one astray.  All we need to do is look at history to see that things rarely if ever turn out as hoped for.  The way I look at it is, if people were perfect (or substitute your closest approximation, such as "highly evolved/enlightened/conscious") there wouldn't need to be a discussion of what political systems and social arrangements are preferable.

And if people aren't evolved/enlightened/conscious, then they will corrupt any system you construct.  This doesn't simply mean "the man" or "people at the top" but in a collaboration at all levels of society.  Such a state of affairs, in fact, argues for as much separation of powers as can be achieved lest the baddies hold one ring to rule them all.

So I've never been a fan of "conscious politics" because they are superfluous.  Get conscious people first, and you don't need to worry about conscious politics.

Why should we be good? How is it possible to have "shoulds"?

If everything is love, how is it possible to have bad or evil intentions?

Everything is love. Murder is love. Is all murder done with good intentions?

For example, do you realize that attention amplifies whatever it observes?

No. I realize that I observe observation accompanied by amplification of attention.

So I realize the correlation, but I don't see that necessarily as a rule.

Who is the I observing observation?

I believe it works like this. Consciousness amplifies whatever it attends, and dissolves whatever it does not attend. That is how creation and destruction happen. Quantum physics has recognized this, with the discovery of the role of the perceiver in shaping reality. Consciousness literally creates and destroys, by fluctuating the state and focus of its attention.

Whether this is ultimately true or not, it illustrates that creation and destruction follow a set of rules. Other rules appear to be infinite potential and expressed energy, inevitable creation and destruction, transcendent nonduality, necessary duality within the dream dimension, and the essential nature of Consciousness as love. Whether or not these rules are transcendentally true, it is evident that such rules must exist. If anything is, then rules are simply the parameters and expression of its existence.

@abrakamowse God has always been silent, but the mind likes to make up "rules".
