Why have human relations?

14 posts in this topic

If you want companionship why not try a waterfall? Or a starry night sky, or a snow covered forest, or a woodland breeze? Not only are these things devoid of dogma, materialism, and ego, they are unconditional and permeate with wisdom and beauty. Nature possess no petty superficial judgements of you, it simply is, without needing anything in return. There is nothing truly deep in human social endeavors, they are quite fleeting, shallow, and unfulfilling, but the being of nature is divine.

Why not put yourself in better company? Why not marinate yourself in the profundity of existence, actually feeling alive for once? Why are you afraid of having a relationship with God?

It depends on what kind of ego one may have.

Basically, what you offered here is a Beige perspective on relationships. Beige is not capable of encompassing animal relationships yet because they're too complex for such a simple ego structure. Once it's evolved into purple/red, animal-like relationships become possible. And from that point on, human relationships become possible.

That's why it's called mother nature, because it's the source that everything stems from.

The taintedness we see in others is the taindedness we see in ourselves. We grow by exerting ourselves and then during a rest period we grow stronger. If you lift weights you tear up your muscles in the process, and then while you rest your body grows them back better than before. If humans throw you out of your element, hold your focus on what's real about them, then use nature as a rest period. If you only ever rest you won't grow. If you only ever challenge yourself, you will also not grow.

If God, or nature or consciousness was happy with nature as it is, animals never would have evolved. We are nature, there was no point in time that we ever truly split from it,.

I just loooove to watch people shamelessly spout ignorance as highest wisdom.

Bearing with the conditioned in gentleness, fording the river with resolution, not neglecting what is distant, not regarding one's companions; thus one may manage to walk in the middle. H11L2

Because it's not enough to have a fulfilling life. Human bonding is a need

@tsuki Counter-argument?

There's nothing wrong with what you say, it just might not work for everyone.

I love being in nature. But if you can’t find the divine in interactions with other people, you haven’t found the divine.

This is your trauma speaking.

@Onecirrus

Relationships are part of nature too, if one fears to be judged then one exists. It is not about them evil people that judge, or that are dogmatic, materialistic, or egoists. It is about the eye that perceives them as so.

When you watch that animal eat, won't it judge you in terms of victim or prey? Then again that waterfall doesn't it obey some kind of law (Gravity, ...).

People are this way, and this is their nature, you can either enjoy it and dance with all these amazing experiences it has to offer, or filter it and seek other less familiar experiences that you're rather more comfortable experiencing, enjoying. (You're less vulnerable to them.)

I believe, based on your way of asking, that this question comes from a place insecurity ("feeling alive for once") rather than from one of self-love, you may correct me if you can, but why would you really call everything nature, except humans?

All of the above is God. :)

Humans are dreamed to be really fucking mean sometimes. Like the purest evil is not what we see in horror movies, but what can come out of a hateful mouth. But have you also heard Loving words? They can lift you to the loftiest of heavens, much like--and also uniquely different to--your  equally valuable relationships with waterfalls, pets, or thoughts.

@Onecirrus From a spiritual point of view, it works as a contrast. How can you fathom your own nature without others? You need others to mirror you, to challenge you, and to improve you (indirectly). Of course, you can spend all your life in the mountain being a monk, meditating all day, and being in the highest states of consciousness. I am talking about mediocre. Relationships are fun, it is a creation...no purpose, just pure joy.
