People's attraction to ego death on psychedelics

6 posts in this topic

Hey guys, I have something I want to share about someone I know. Sorry if this is a bit long, but it is important to me to share this. This person is an example for what I want to talk about.

Here we go.

So this person, a few years back, was taking psychedelics. With friends or whatever. Maybe just for fun, not sure what his intentions were with them. Anyway, this person is the most unspiritual person you can imagine. Obsessed with science and physics etc, but sees no spiritual content in anything whatsoever. He has a huge ego that thrives on people's approval of him, to the point of arrogance, which leads him to have even more approval and get even more cocky as a result. Like a vicious circle of cowardliness.

Funny enough, he was telling me a while ago, once he had taken psychedelics a few times (mostly acid, maybe some mushrooms), that he almost experienced ego death, on psychedelics. The way he was talking about it it sounded as if for him that was a goal to reach and a desirable one at that. I think he might have read about that on Erowid.org seeing something about 'ego death'.

Anyway, recently on his Facebook he made an arrogant cocky post attacking people who are against 5G and vaccines. He did this by saying they should go to university and study whatever science is related to those things and then if they want to make a change make a change from there. Fair enough. That is all good and yes he is right you might say. But yet again the problem was in the way he said it, in the cocky arrogance that was there. He basically accused them of not being productive members of society and being 'deadweights' (oh yes and the retard didn't even get that it's two words 'dead weight').

I commented on this post saying that he should look at his ego, humble down a little and get of his high horse. Because he needed it, and anyway, of course, as ego, he didn't like that and started complaining about it and having a cry about it to his other friends (seeking approval).

Anyway, so here is a person who seeks ego death on psychedelics, and then when an opportunity for him to see his ego in real life is given... Wah wah wah he has a cry about it and complains that he doesn't have an ego and seeks approval from his friends to strengthen his ego (which of course he doesn't have ;).

What do you guys think of this?

@Hotaka He seems very rationally minded and has an understanding of how conspiracies affect society. He seems to be interested in developing himself spiritually. You seem to be jealous of him.

The ego doesn't have to strengthen itself if it's not there. Probably why he's seeking ego-death. Maybe he just wants a break? Lol.

Sounds like his ego triggers your ego.  Try to step into his shoes and remember a time where you were judgmental towards people who did not think the way you do... oh wait.
