Insight for Success

2 posts in this topic

Not that there's any actual benefit to having a good work ethic, but it can still be a trip. Try it on for size with some strategy. Get obsessed. The first thing you could do every morning is meditate, and then try to carry your ascended state into the ordinariness of get-er-done. Take hella fucking risks. Not everyone makes it; the ones that do make it take risks though. If you're infinitely stubborn (not possible but you can get close), there is almost literally no risk. Preposterous strategic-ness is not enough to see that world without luck, but beyond preposterous strategy, on the other hand... try it. You may or may not like it. But what if you do like it? "What do I want?" is the best contemplation for success. The only thing holding a compassionate person back from this is shame -- can't explain why, but ignore the absolute fuck out of it. Shame is what tells you you're human. You can be beyond human. You can do anything.

For example, if you're in college and you get a B in some class, here's literally an option that maybe some of you have tried and succeeded with, but this is for those who haven't thought about it:

You can go to your professor's office and just give them a reason for why you actually deserve an A. If they say no, you can literally say you're not leaving until they give you an A. Sometimes they'll decline, but if they're like most people, they'll eventually give in after you're there annoying them for 3 hours. Ever thought of that? I've seen it work. It does work. It's what very successful people do.

Haha reminded me when I visited my prof last time. I was desperate because I had to score a good grade for my honours.

I visited my prof quite a number of times on my own accord, just knocking on the door and see. But it's not as easy as you think. You still have to be polite, respectful and you have to come up with work to show and discuss with your prof. If not, he will brush you off and tell you go back and do this n that.

In the end, i did get the grade (Grade B+) I need to get the honours I want.
