The dangers of spirituality without reason

From what I see, spirituality kinda promotes a "world without reason" dogma. One of the most dangerous idea is that everything are just ideas in my consciousness. If such an idea is accepted, then what would stop spiritual people killing other people and bring to their defense: "what other people ? they were just ideas in my consciousness!" ?

Do you know of any such cases where people who had that "Oneness" or "All is consciousness"  idea went on a killing spree?

I don't know of such a case. But for example, what is stopping you from killing ?

If everyone knows that everyone is intimately them, why don't they just go and kill each other? It is the very Knowledge beyond concept (Love) that everyone is you.

Well i'm not enlightened, far from it. I Just had some insights.

But i don't see why that believe would cause anybody to kill.

I could equally say that people are just physical meat puppets from the materalistic standpoint. Whats stopping me from killing then?

"What other people? They are just a combination atoms and molecules!"

Generally people kill because of anger/fear/greed etc. right?

So looking at the world as "Oneness" "Consciousness" etc. i think it takes more of those "negative" feelings away or reduces them instead of growing them.

That's the whole point! Nothing is stopping your mind from inventing whatever stories and excuses convenient to it.

But haven't you noticed? That is exactly what you are doing every day of your life right now!

The whole point of Goodness is that it is uncoerced. Nothing stops a good person from killing another person and rationalizing it away. So when he chooses not to do that, that is what makes him good. If he was forced to be good, goodness would be worthless.

What you fail to appreciate is that rationality is precisely the function of the mind which is used to justify every evil ever committed by man. Rationality does not and cannot lead to Goodness. Rationality is whore to the devil.

Nothing at all is stopping you from being Hitler. Go for it if you want. God will not judge you or hold it against you. Not even a little bit.

But your fellow men, who are devils, might not treat you so kindly. You reap what you sow.
