Setting standards vs Being too critical

3 posts in this topic

Hey @Leo Gura, In your life advice part 2 video you made a point of setting standards. So I decided to set some standards in my own life but what I ended up finding is that I tend to get overly critical when I don't meet my standards and begin getting very frustrated. I begin getting angry at myself for not living up to my standards. This goes against loving yourself(in the ego sense). So my question is what do we do when we don't live up to our standards? How do we exactly try and love ourselves for who we are and try to correct our mistakes at the same time.(I am kinda new to  this stuff so my emotional distinctions are not fine enough)

Self-compassion for being so innocent to believe this judgement is self-loving.

Focus on what you want, on what you desire.

How come there is judgement? Stop comparing standards to the reality right now and realize that you are already that what you want right now, and that you are already acting in accordance/alignment to that. Let go of any resistant thought. Let go of any perspective that isn't aligned with what you desire and want.

Life Purpose journey

Presence. Goodness. Grace. Love.

Same here bro..I became too judgmental about life and it took away the love.

I’m trying to unlearn some of the “self-improvement” content that I’ve been learning over the years.

I became aware that it just doesn’t feel good and I’m trying to live more in a flow.
