Enlightenment Vs Personal Development

6 posts in this topic

I've been tossing and turning over this shit for so long now and I've finally come up with an analogy for the relationship between the two:

Enlightenment work = Swallowing the red pill

Personal development work = Learning Kung Fu

Not bad, but enlightenment includes personal development in its very process.

Enlightenment is personal development, only you realize you weren't ever really developing yourself ;)

The self that you are "trying" to development is an illusion =)

Does one set out to become enlightened or is it a product of personal development, experience and growth.  It seems that if it were the end result of personal development, there would be more enlightened people in this world.  Or is it that once a person has what they want from personal development, they settle and stop growing?

personal development is making "your self" seemingly less insane then others around you.

enlightenment is ......well,.. nothing
