when you meditate what happens? Do you get anxious ? does it relax you? What are you trying to achieve while meditating?

When i meditate i close my eyes and listen. LIsten attentively , and do not take judgements serious. Just be listening, you will be hearing the noises in the room you are in along with the silence in contrast to the noise. You will also be hearing thoughts. You will notice that they will distract you from being in the present moment and drag you with a story about w/e the thoughts say . Your job is to listen/observe try not to judge or take it serious if you do ... you will see how you resist being there you will try to run away from yourself ,what is this resistance? ask yourself contemplate that

Not much, thoughts come up. No I dont get anxious, it kind of relaxes me. I am trying to achieve concentration power.

@Dodoster

what is your actual experience of any other "I am"?

let's say - what is your experience of Ayla?

if you will give no attention to the thoughts about any Ayla at all, you will see that your experience of ayla are what we could label some black spots on white creen and one picture. You only know what you know of Ayla. Ayla has no other reality to her than that that you are seeing.

And this is LITERAL ! Not some kind of a whoowoo!

Thoughts will come to tell you a million things. But see them as if you saw a million colors or heard a million sounds. They have no meaning whatsoever!!!

do the same thing with thoughts about Dodoster. How is that construct real? Is it even?

You are aware of him so it cannot be you. In the same way as an icecream cannot taste icecream, yes? It IS the icecream and it knows it is.

Oh boy... You have enough info on this post to looooooooook!

:)

if the icecream had a tongue, it would taste itself!!! And then it wouldnt exist, probbly why evolution opted against icecreams with tongues xD

I am not sure what to do, if any experienced practitioners could give me some advice I'd appreciate that.

Keep it up, that's what you do. You'll come through phases in which your mind fucks so damn hard with you that you'll ask yourself whether your state of being even worsened because of your work. You have a taste of that probably right now. This happens because as your awareness expands through meditation, you'll be faced with a lot of shit that is inside of you and that needs time to purge out. This will be very challenging, I can tell you.

Is it worth it? There'll come times in which you think that it is not. But it is, here is why. At some point you experienced so many emotions in so much depth and know them with so much awareness that they lose their existential power. You'll feel fear and you are just aware of how your belly contracts and your upper arms feel strange. You'll be like: Wow, how intense is that? But it won't get you anymore.

That's a bit of the motivation here.

But to the "you have no teacher and stuff"-thing. You have the Internet, bro. I like listening to lectures from spiritual teachers, to get new inquires I can take on, expand my framework and get new perspectives. I mostly listen to them while cooking / eating - when I have nothing to do / fuck around with psychedelics.

Some names to mention that were and are very helpful to me are: Alan Watts, Rupert Spira, Matt Khan, Mooji, Shunryu Suzuki, Shinzen Young. If you listen to them you have work for the next 3 years.

Cheers

They want reality, so I give 'em a fatal dosage.

My advice is to keep meditating. As Leo puts it meditation is the most important personal development technique and I agree with that. With meditation you can't do something wrong. As long as you sit there you're good. It's ok to have doubts at first, everyone had them and still does. After 10 months I still have doubts but they don't matter to me anymore. It doesn't matter if you found the meditator, yourself or Ayla. It all bullshit, there is no goal with meditation. Just keep meditating and later on you'll be so thankful to yourself you didn't quit. Just observe your doubts and keep meditating. Doubts are the part of the process. Good luck!

@mr lenny Go on youtube and look up some meditation techniques and there are some that even guide you through the process.
