A modern first world democracy requires a modern information era electoral process. An election app would ensure all Americans could have an easy convenient means to vote for their preferred candidate without even leaving their homes, especially useful during a global pandemic.

Blockchain technology can ensure this new modern method of electoral interface is completely tamper proof as well as quick.

The President also will have less means to sabotage the election such as de-funding the USPS and sending armed goons to the polls to intimidate voters.

I don't think America is ready for that yet. 

Also there are lot of security risk issues with online voting. 

Online is never foolproof. Hacking is still possible. What about the people who don't know how to use technology or applications? There will be no election worker to help them out. Such people might fail to cast ballots because they might not know if they really did it or not. 

There is a signature issue so much so that Leo did not even prefer a mail in ballot, he went in person to cast his ballot because he feared a signature rejection. This tells me that such rejections might be happening often. 

For a person like Trump such things are better because he will tell his supporters to cast in person and then tell the officials to reject all online vote or online vote might simply be rejected for various reasons. 

For all of this to not happen, the best is in person voting whether you're young or old or whatever, you go to the booth and vote. Chances are that your vote is counted safely..
