Argument for why we are all the same person

11 posts in this topic

Regardless of any of our metaphysical commitments, be it materialism or something else like idealism, we are all equally part of reality and therefore are reality itself.

The brain filters reality. Before any of us were born, there was pure, unfiltered reality. After we die, there will be pure, unfiltered reality again. The state of unfiltered reality is the same before our birth and after our death. If this is true, and we all can equally be considered to be reality itself, then we are all the same person.

The brain, or better the mind, is creating the reality. For example, all your world, your friends, your family...what are? A image in your mind, a remember. If you are looking right now a sunset, what is this? A image create in your mind, all that you see is an image processed after the reflection of the light in your eyes. If you loose all your memories, do you have family, identity? No. Your mind is creating shapes , it's his work. Shaping the reality. If you stop the creation of shapes, what remains? A reality without shape, so without limits... infinity. Everything, or nothing, depending of the point of wiev. So we are like shapes of that unfiltered reality that you said, at the end the same substance with different filter

Notice that this is an assumption.

Now - when and if you become directly conscious of Oneness, you will become directly conscious that reality is Infinite.  This will shatter materialism because what is everything must include nothing.

This may lead to the radical realization that you are in fact, absolutely nothing.

Thus you will directly realize that your birth is a hallucination in order to induce the appearance of separation - or as you said - the filter that limits the infinite.

Wisdom.  Truth.  Love.

I don't see any obvious flaws in how you arrived at the point that everyone is one. I think that there's a sea of differences that can maintain separation between you and others, or your selfness and otherness. It might be because it's initially very hard to imagine another life outside of you.

I don't know why it's so hard for materialists to see this for themselves. Or creationists! Following both theories, there's always at least one first human.  Every single human to follow is a digital copy, with mutational differences.

Then also in both theories, we arose from the earth itself.  Not billions of different Earth's, but this very one. (regardless of if this earth is made of billions of other ones).

Well the universe in my view is still being created like an ongoing event. Evidence is that rather than going backwards to a state of oneness everything is heading to a state of maximum diversity.  Your reality is different from my reality and your reality is going to be different from anyone else's reality. Unfiltered reality is simply seeing this process across a massive scale. To put it simply consider a single infinity, well from this singular infinity you can create an infinite number of infinities that are all different but which have their origin in a singular infinity,

Brain is just a story you invented. This is unfiltered reality friend :) and we are all the same person because identity is imaginary all concepts fabricated ontop of nothing. All divisions are imaginary and made by your mind. They have no truth besides conceptual. You can’t say where I end and you begin. Also look into your mind what do you find? Nothing you are literally nothing. There aren’t two nothings it’s nothing. You can’t have two nothings . Both of us look in and find nothing. If it was two different nothings they wouldn’t be nothing . Super simple

Really, you look inside yourself and find nothing. I look inside myself and see a lot more than nothing, quite literally,

Emptiness and fulness are two ends of the same stick. Consciousness is infinitely spacious, and it is infinitely abundant. It is not just the void, but it is everything arising from the void. The ultimate reality is beyond all things and beyond nothing.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.
