Stage green is eating itself

Today, stage green reporter Glenn Greenwald just resigned from the Intercept, a paper he founded, because the board wanted to censor his article about Joe Biden fearing it could hurt his election. https://greenwald.substack.com/p/my-resignation-from-the-intercept

A couple days ago a stage green professor whistleblowed about how bad the pressure is getting at her college:

A few months ago, stage green data analyst David Shore lost his job after he tweeted data compiled by an African American scientist about how historically riots hurt their causes inside the USA.

Here are more examples in this twitter thread:

In my opinion stage green in America is merging with stage red people who are adopting the stage green beliefs. They are trying to pressure and infliltrate administrative positions and push society towards their beliefs, but their beliefs are further up the spiral than society is ready for and it will create friction. I am also concerned of where society is headed if/when they become the majority or a larger vocal minority if they are this hypersensitive and intolerant of others.

yea they should get their priorities straight and write them down meticulously, so they can have arguments about them.

and everybody who wants to join them knows exactly what they're signing up for.

Most of the values is just politics, that is nothing more then made up ideology that has nothing to do with law.

Unfortunately nowadays Left can override law and what is worse it is made publicly normal .

I think all sides are putting less and less importance in principles, which is very sad.

Group-think is very much part of Green. Nothing Red about it.

Green is not tolerant of whatever it considers illiberal. Which means, anything supporting Trump's reelection.

I don't think you can make an argument that Tolerance is an absolute Good, the same way you can't make an argument that Freedom is an absolute Good.

Whether it's a Good or not is always going to be Contextual.

How benign or malignant is the behavior or idea that we're considering Tolerating? Do you take a Harm Reduction standpoint when looking at Tolerance, or do you take a moralistic stance, consequences be damned?

I think there's an interesting discussion to be had on the topic, because it's far from a black and white issue.

GREEN/red can be very dangerous and toxic.

Anyone who doesn't get that should watch Wild wild country!

A couple days ago a stage green professor whistleblowed about how bad the pressure is getting at her college:

She is not a stage green professor. She is orange criticizing green from below, not from above. I work a liberal arts college with very similar demographics and dynamics as Smith college. She is in the same Orange realm as Jordan Peterson as she criticizes Green.

One way to identify this is to look at their underlying orientation. When high/mature green and yellow criticize low/immature green they do so in a way that pulls green up and helps improve green. Blue/Orange has a very different orientation when criticizing Green. They may have some legitimate criticisms, yet their orientation is to pull green down and impede green

The second way to identify is how sensitive and fragile the person is. Someone at a lower developmental stage has a personal filter that internalizes a lot of guilt and shame. They can't see things from a meta-personal perspective. Notice how this woman talks about how the college is telling her that she is a privileged white woman with implicit biases responsible for oppression of minorities. The college may be approaching it in an awkward / inefficient / immature way. Yet she strongly personalizes it, rather than being meta-mature to it. For example, she could have framed it like "The administration is not educating faculty and staff about issues of systemic racism, white privilege and implicit biases. There are advantages to taking an aggressive approach in some contexts, yet it can also create a toxic atmosphere in which white professor's are put on the defensive and feel like they are being guilted, shamed and blamed. That there is something inherently wrong with us. A more effective approach to deal with issues of white privilege and implicit biases would be to do X, Y, Z and allow a create an environment in which we are introspecting ourselves and comfortable having discussing with each other".

I think a great example of this is Michael Brooks in this clip (21:45-24:30):

I like how he starts off with a yellow tone: "I appreciate synthesis and the ability to hold multiple truths".

It's so sad we lost him so young. He was developing into high yellow cognition and would have likely expanded his influence.

The video content works well with Spiral Dynamics theory. Yet one could also look at without using SD theory. SD is just a way to contextualize individual and social phenomena.

So that is one lens that you can use to describe what is going on. SD is just another lens.

What's always going on is group-think, collective ego, survival, relativity, self-bias, double-standards, self-justification, self-deception, culture, dogma, ideology, tribalism, people misunderstanding people, madness of crowds, unconsciousness, ignorance, devilry, and Love.

That pretty much explains the whole world.
