I've read the book and I like it. There is some truth to it, but only just a little. Some of the information in the book didn't make much sense and is somewhat outdated. It was written in the 70s or 80s if I remember it correctly. For instance, my blood type is 0 but the book said I should base my meals on more protein and fat as opposed to carbs. At the same time, it said I should eat some grains, which doesn't make sense. Also, I would imagine your metabolic type plays a much more important role. The blood group diet is a nice read, but the Metabolic Typing Diet by William Wolcott is a lot better if you want a nutritional plan that suits your genetic blueprint.

"Choosing a diet based on your blood type is like deciding on what gas to put into your car based on its color." - Dr. Brad Schoenfeld

There have been 14 studies that I'm aware of being reviewed and surprise, surprise - No evidence supporting the idea of decreasing cardiometabolic risk factors in groups that were supposedly "a match".

However what they DID find is that certain diets* improved blood markers no matter the blood type.

*I don't mean a diet perceived per se like veganism, ketogenic etc, rather an overall energy balance and micronutrient intake.

There is a lot of websites regarding lots of topics, which doesn't make them more or less true.

In general, I'd say - the simpler the idea is, the lesser is likelihood it will work. Yeah, genetical blueprint, blood type match, acidity - It sounds appealing, but the more You will actually get into details and science (or lack of it) behind those ideas, the more You will be capable of making a distinction between what makes sense and what doesn't simply even apply to human physiology.

Websites, blogs, YouTube and even a big part of the library is a weak and very unreliable source of information - It is more of a gamble, You might click and see someone knowledgeable or not.
And You won't know which one is which.
