Had Some Thoughts This Morning On Yellow

11 posts in this topic

This is a litmus test to help pull you up to Yellow. Frankly Im just scratching the surface Im more Green I wanted to challenge myself a bit but I think this is the radical difference between the two from my understanding. Here it goes.

Do you want a solution for the entire spiral?

Do you care about the rich as much as the middle class and the poor?

Are you actually stepping OUTSIDE of your own perspective?

For example: If you died right now and had no skin in the game what would be best for the entire planet?

Are you thinking of creative new solutions or stuck in old ideologies like Left vs Right? Communism, Anarchism, Libertarianism, Conservativism, Centrism, Socialism?

How far ahead are you thinking? Are you futuristic? Can you imagine what innovations will have happened in 50-100 years and how they will change the entire system? How does that change your paradigm?

Can you imagine a radical new system? In what dark, dusty corner of the globe can you find innovative ideas that havent been used and integrate them?

Can we invent something that takes all of humanity to the next level? Like The Wheel, Agriculture, The Internet, The Printing Press, The Telephone. Small innovations capable of gigantic change.

Can you see the backfiring mechanisms before they happen? Will your solution make one side happy and one side angry? How will that pan out?

Are you okay with chaos and conflict before everything becomes harmonious again? How patient are you?

Can you compromise? Are you flexible? Are you okay with suffering for a while?

There it is, hope it gets you thinking. :)

I  think that stage Yellow is more about systemic change. And Green is more about change within a system. Like bringing revolutionary changes in the system, for example bringing a new law or ending an existing one. Whereas Yellow is about a complete switch to another system. Something similar to what they call "Draining the Swamp."

I dont think Yellow wants to tear down the system so to speak, only add something fresh, step out of old paradigms, but then again, theyre flexible, if tearing down the entire house of cards is necessary then maybe thats what needs to happen, maybe this will hurt now but be good in the next 50 years, but Yellow is also very careful, thinking about every single consequence.

I think...

@Rilles  yellow tries to bring specific solutions by trying different system models. So if one doesn't work, yellow experiments with different models or hierarchies as in a model like Libertarianism or socialism etc. Yellow tries to find a proper fit.

I mean i wouldn't want chaos and suffering for me my surroundings and everybody else and i'd fear that after a revolution let's say just even worse leaders come to power so the suffering wouldn't even be worth it, like the arab spring for example.

Also some things i'm not for now but i hope in the future we can have it. Like let's say open borders, i hope at some point we can open all borders etc.

But we're not there by a long shot and for now i wouldn't want that since societies, values etc. are so different. First we have to evolve on our own time in our own regions.

Systems Thinking isn't exclusive to Yellow, as it has it's beginnings in awareness of systemic issues beginning in Green. I could probably make an argument that a handful of pre-Green intellectuals like Marx and Hegel tapped into elements of systems thinking (though in a limited way).

The inter-intra distinction of systems thinking between Green and Yellow that was mentioned makes a lot of sense.

@Rilles. Great post by the way.
