Are all of these early votes actually 100% locked in now?

19 posts in this topic

Hey guys, I don't know if any of you know about the current total early votes that have already been both done at the polling stations and delivered to the county election offices throughout the entire country. According to the official US Elections Project website, https://electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-2020G/index.html, the current Total Early Votes is 76,535,747 as of this moment. That number now represents 55.5% of the total votes counted in the 2016 general election. Given how the growing total number of early votes has been continually breaking records for early voting like never before, are all of these early votes for each of the candidates actually 100% locked-in, as in all of these early votes are absolutely final and completely irreversible? Like no one throughout the entire nation such any election official or court judge can change or reject any of these votes now under any circumstances?

These votes are far from locked in, though some of them are as good as locked in. Some are the object of legal challenges and more will be. Some of the votes will no doubt be dumped without being counted (this is usually the case) and more will be counted wrong or disqualified (sometimes fraudulently or by abusing regulations).

These are usually very state/locale-specific issues, though Washington might get involved. People will no doubt try to get the SCOTUS involved at some point.

Even if one of the presidential campaigns concedes, there are many other positions at stake...

So, is there a way to know if any votes have been dumped without counted, how many turned where disqualified fraudulently or abused regulations now, and how many have become the object of other kinds of legal challenges?

Malfeasance aside, the problem is that you can't have fully secret ballots and verify the integrity of the count at the same time. There is an argument for renouncing the secrecy of the ballot considering mail-in ballots are becoming more common anyway. But for the foreseeable future, no one will ever know what happened exactly in every precinct.

Obviously you can't know the number of votes which have not been counted at all. Sometimes the number of disqualified votes will be published but such numbers can rarely be trusted because independent verification is too often impossible, illegal or simply tedious. The legal challenges are public at least (though the number of affected votes might be uncertain). Making sense of this mess would be a full time job. I suppose we might call that journalism. Aw man. So, what are the police, FBI, CIA, and other peace officers doing about all of this?

This isn't the CIA's remit and these others can only make it worse. This isn't the kind of problem that's solved with a stick.

Why would the other peace officers besides the CIA only make it worse?

Why can't any of them help stop voter fraud, dumping, and abuse from happening? Are you saying that the election offices or polling places or wherever else all of the vote-counting happens are all gonna be like Wild Wild West places?

Because you don't want this turns into a confrontation between gunslingers working for partisan Democrats and gunslingers working for partisan Republicans. When lawyers fight, no one gets shot.

Yeah, I like that one. lol

Also, this businessinsider article mentions Trump having tweeted a largely incorrect fact about being able to change your vote. https://www.businessinsider.com/how-can-you-change-your-vote-trump-clinton-early-voting-2016-11

It says only a handful of states allow it. Even then, it seems difficult to change your vote in those states.

He really his. That's why he has now gotten so desperate that he's been lately trying to cause as much as chaos in this election as he can in order to inspire as much uncertainty as he can in as many voters (including of course as many democratic voters and swing voters) as he can over whether or not it is worth it to vote at all. This is basically a form of voter intimidation, which of course is a form of voter suppression.

However, at the same time, Trump is announcing this whole "change your vote" thing because he actually is also sub communicating to the American public that he really knows that he is losing badly; therefore, he's actually giving off a begging vibe. He's desperately begging all of the people out there who are heavily inclined if not have become totally hardened Biden supporters/voters to switch over to Trump himself. It's disgustingly pathetic.

@Preety_India I don't even understand why he would want to run for a second term he looks absolutely wretched after these first four years.

Being power hungry seems like such an exhausting endeavor.

Valid point.

Actually, Michael Moore, who correctly predicted in 2016 that Trump would win against Hillary, had recently asked rhetorically "Does he really want to win?"

Howard Stern even said a while back in one of his interviews that Trump psychologically doesn't really want to be president. He just wants the title and position of it.

He is the most delusional person ever. He imagines himself as the permanent president of America.

I just want to see his face after he loses the election. Want to watch his delusions crack like falling mirrors.

A glutton is one who continues to stuff his belly even though he's already full.

Doesn't the Bible say something about gluttony?

Lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, pride.

Count how many of those Trump checks off. That's how you measure the size of a devil ;)

Yeah, he’s doomed to suffer. And as was pointed out, he’s already suffering from these past 4 years (and the rest of his life, honestly). He’s basically in hell already with nobody to blame but himself. It’s just too bad he’s not aware of it and blames anyone but himself.

Doctor "It is what it is"

Man "Huh?!"
