air pollution from cars

Hello! Where do you live and how`s the air quality of your city? Do you go around by bike or scooter? How bad do you think the exhausts from diesel cars affect us?

I live in a 400.000 people city in Romania and I go around by bicycle, but very few people do that, most of them go by car or by bus. Most cars are diesel and quite old, and they pollute like crazy. Most people here are around SD stage orange, so they don`t give a shit about pollution, I don`t really know what to do, I love to ride my bike, but the air is so bad. There is a trade between small cities and big cities, in a small one you get a better air quality and transport but people are more conservative.

You can always buy a high quality respirator with replaceable filters.  Bike out of peak hours or out of town completely. It is generally much safer to use public transport in big cities and in most cases is fairly economical. But other than that there is not much else to be done. 

Do your best to stay off the main roads when you can.

yep, I`ll buy anti-pollution masks, but that does not cure all of the particles and stuff, but better than nothing. Hope we`ll all have cities like in the Neteherlands in the future.

nothing does. Unless you can move out to a small village or find a cabin in the woods, there is no escaping pollution.

I haven´t tried them yet but from my research they seem to be quite more safe than the typical pollution mask
